Season 1 of Tidelands, a Netflix Australian drama, premiered on Netflix worldwide on December 14th, 2018. In the series, a former criminal returns home to discover that things are not as they seem and that the locals are half-siren, half-human. In western drama series, Greek mythology has always held a strong allure. That is why Tidelands has such a large following. The characters in this drama are still remembered by the audience.
The first season of Tidelands received four out of five stars on IMDb and has an approval rating of 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. The public also enjoyed the dark and twisted fantasy series because it featured solid female protagonists who tackled and investigated the secrets tried on the island for generations and the village’s supernatural inhabitants.
As a result, it’s understandable that die-hard fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Tidelands season 2. The question now is whether or not the second season of Tidelands will be produced.
Tidelands Season 2 Release date
To be honest, it’s a bit risky to talk about this matter. Although Netflix has not made an official declaration about whether or not the show Tidelands season 2 will be renewed, the fact that it has been almost two years since it first aired makes things dubious. Netflix usually waits two to three months before announcing a show’s renewal after closely analyzing its success, metrics, and numbers during that period. The fact that the play received mixed reviews from critics adds to the unpredictability of the situation.
Tidelands Season 2 Cast
Tidelands is an Australian drama that premiered on Netflix and portrayed Charlotte Best, Madeleine Madden, Mattias Inwood, Aaron Jakubenko, Peter O’Brien, Elsa Pataky, Dalip Sondhi, Marco Pigossi, and Chloe De Los Santos.
Whenever Tidelands season 2 comes, we will get to see them back.
Tidelands Season 2 Plot
The first season of Tidelands follows the inhabitants of Orphelin Bay, a fishing island with mysterious and otherworldly animals. The monsters known as sirens have their origins in Greek mythology. Adrielle Cuthbert, the matriarch of the sirens who occupied the lands of Orphelin Bay, is part human and half siren. They’ve lived on the islands for generations, and those aware of their presence are either transported or choose to keep it to themselves.
When ex-con Calliope “Cal” McTeer comes on the island, though, things start to get a lot more exciting. The first season of Tidelands ended with the deaths of numerous significant protagonists in the last episode. So, if Tidelands Season 2 hits the small screen, we can be sure that the storyline will be linked to the previous instalment. Cal will undoubtedly get stronger in Tidelands Season 2 as she sets out to uncover the secrets that lie beneath the surface of the mysterious island of Orphelin Bay.
Must Check: Bones 13: Renewed or Cancelled? (Latest Update)
Tidelands is a well-made, well-acted television drama with enough plot twists to keep us guessing until the very end. The scenery was spectacular, and the score was appropriately eerie, with well-chosen music. Sure, there was some bloodshed and violence. Still, I genuinely think that added to the entertainment value of the plot, which was just the perfect amount off the beaten path to avoid being ludicrous while still keeping the story interesting without becoming complicated to follow.
The characters were well-developed, with a lot of depth, and the performers did an excellent job portraying them. In conclusion, Tidelands is a fantastic show, and I’m happy to join the chorus of fans pushing for a sequel to be produced in the not-too-distant clock time.
