Bruised, Halle Berry’s directorial debut is proof that movies may change at a moment’s notice. But that’s not the only thing to take away from the upcoming Netflix thriller, which wasn’t even meant to end up in Berry’s hands in the first place. Bruised, which was initially created for Blake Lively, has undergone a makeover that demonstrates that female performers’ careers do not, and should not, cease at 40. Berry was not only able to transform Bruised into her own concept, but she was also able to act in and create the movie. Halle Berry is set to demonstrate to the world that she can still take a beating in the ring while also checking the dailies to see if she needs to reframe her shot. Bruised is due to premiere exclusively on Netflix on November 24. It’s just one of several massive games the streaming studio is hoping to dominate in 2021, despite a busy release timetable.
