The satellite images shown recently were released showing North Korea is seen to be building a uranium enrichment plant at its main Yongbyon nuclear complex. A sign that indicates increasing the production of bomb materials, as per the experts.
The project was started after North Korea raised pressure with its first missile tests in six months longer, long-dormant nuclear disarmament negotiations with the United States.
The extension of the enrichment plant shows that North Korea is planning to increase its production of weapons using uranium at the Yongbyon site and increasing it by 25 percent, Jeffrey Lewis along with two other experts at Middlebury Institute said as such in a report. The report said that the photos which were taken by the satellite the photos showed construction going on in an area that is connected to the uranium enrichment plant at Yongbyon.
Satellite photos indicate North Korea taking further steps at Yongbyon
This satellite image which was exposed by Maxar Technologies shows a brief of the work going on September 14, 2021, at the Yongbyon Nuclear Research Facility complex in Yongbyon, North Korea. The satellite image taken on September 1 showed North Korea cut down the trees and prepared the ground for all the constructions, and the image also showed that a construction excavator. Then on the second image taken on Sept. 14 showed a wall was made to enclose the area and build a foundation. The panels along the side were removed from the enrichment building and that provided access to the newly enclosed area.
This combination of the satellite images which were showed by Maxar Technologies gave a closer look at the area before construction showing the top view and while the construction is going on September 14, 2021, at a processing facility at the Yongbyon Nuclear Research Facility complex in Yongbyon, North Korea. Nuclear weapons can be made by using either high-quality uranium or plutonium. As a matter of fact, North Korea has all the facilities to make both at Yongbyon. Last month, a satellite image showed that North Korea at Yongbyon had resumed the operation of other facilities to produce plutonium weapons.
The Yongbyon complex is called “the heart” of the nuclear program in North Korea. During a summit with former President Donald Trump in the year 2019, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made an offer to bring down the entire complex if he was given major sanctions relief. But the Americans rejected his proposal as they considered it as a limited step.
Satellite photos indicate North Korea targeting US
Some US and South Korean scientists said that North Korea is even running some uranium enrichment plants secretly. In 2018, a top South Korean official revealed that North Korea on an approx has made up to 60 nuclear weapons
It can be easily estimated according to the North Koreas production they can add every year ranging from six to as many as 18 bombs.
Last week, North Korea launched cruise missiles. They released it toward the sea for tests to check its diversity, its missile forces and strengthen its attack capability on South Korea and Japan, where a total of 80,000 American groups are present.
Kim has even made threats to drop his nuclear weapons and build more weapons unless Washington drops its hostility against his country. But Kim still continues his self-imposed testing long-range missiles directly targeting the US mainland, indicating he wants to keep future diplomacy with Washington alive.
