Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has stated that she had given the vote to President Biden for making him a transformational president just like Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
On Thursday, in a boisterous speech against Biden’s Build Back Better legislation, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., “Just a few weeks ago, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger said, ‘Nobody elected Joe Biden to be FDR,’”
And just when a female voice screamed out loud saying “I did.”
The Capitol Hill producer and reporter with NBC News and MSNBC, Haley Talbott, found out that Ocasio-Cortez is behind that female voice.
Sahil Kapur, NBC News National Political Reporter, had retweeted Talbot along with a video clip of the event and then Ocasio-Cortez retweeted Kapur.
It was mentioned by Spanberger that the 2020 presidential election was won by Biden as a result of campaigning as a comparative moderate that led to the defeat of more radical opponents primarily.
Still, it has been noticed that Biden is adopting a more extremist approach in governing, maybe he looks upon himself just as another transformative president like Roosevelt.
In 1933, Democrats had a great majority in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate when Roosevelt took office, as mentioned by commentators, whereas, in comparison to that, Biden enjoys only a few majorities in both chambers.
Ocasio-Cortez Worked With Biden’s Team
Still, during the campaign and the changes, Ocasio-Cortez particularly worked together with Biden’s team and encouraged Biden in adopting such an approach that accompanied her “Democratic Socialism.”
