Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg is once again making headlines about his donation of around $5.6 million to the Georgia Secretary of state’s office.
According to reports published in newspapers, a voting integrity group headed by Senator Kelly Loeffler, filed a legal case in the local court which demanded transparency over the donation amount donated by Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg to Georgia Secretary of state’s office.
The lawsuit stated that the money was spent in the political campaigning for the 2020 presidential elections, and hence they demanded the court to ask both the parties for clarity and transparency.
Mark Zuckerberg’s Donation to Ctcl
It is not a hidden fact that Mark Zuckerberg and his philanthropist wife Priscilla Chan are quite leaned towards the left. A higher official reported that they know of Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan donating $350 million to an accused non-profit organization ‘Center for Tech and Civil Life’ (CTCL).
In his report, he accused that the CTCL funded thousands of government officials with this money around the country which hugely affected the elections. He added that being the head of Capital Research Center, he is keeping a very close eye on this matter. He also hinted that the Capital Research Center has begun a state-by-state investigation on how these donations were used and what was the impact.
The investigations are carried out in Georgia for now and after the completion, he hinted that their next step would be Pennsylvania.
Zuckerberg’s Donation Helping Democrats in Presidential Elections 2020
There have been quite a lot of whispers regarding this matter and the chatter is clear that Mark Zuckerberg’s huge donation to CTCL helped Joe Biden win from majority states. It has been said that CTCL gave away around $29 million to the government election officials and to the people.
If we estimate that what was the rate per person of a vote, we get to the conclusion that it was around $7.13 per registered voter. In comparison to this what our estimates tell us is that the then US government spent around $2.3 million in grants which makes around $1.91 per registered voter.
There is a huge difference in the money spent per person by both the parties and it is quite evident that both the parties won from those constituencies where they spent this much money.
Foundation for Government accountability CEO Tarren Bragdon in his statement to Fox news said that Meta platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan’s donation is an unprecedented event that you can use your unending power of money to manipulate the government election officials and get results of your own choice.
He further added criticizing the Meta platforms CEO that it is like spending your private money on police to have your police officials appointed so that you can ask them to do anything for you and they being the pet follow your orders. He expressed his grief over such kind of election rigging.
