Tuesday’s Episode of “The Nick Cannon Show” Was Dedicated to His Son
The TV host mournfully revealed the death of his infant son on “The Nick Cannon Show,” dedicating Tuesday’s episode to his “beautiful son Zen.” Cannon has welcomed Zen with model Alyssa Scott.
Cannon said “Over the weekend I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus that was pretty much a malignant, invasive midline brain tumor, brain cancer,” adding “It’s tough.”
Talking about the disease, according to Mayo Clinic Hydrocephalus is the “buildup of fluid in the cavities (ventricles) deep within the brain. The excess fluid puts pressure on the brain and can “damage brain tissues and cause a range of brain function problems.”
The TV star stated that his son was nearly 2 months old when he found out that the infant was suffering from some breathing problems, which at first, he associated with the newborn’s sinuses.
Cannon was told by the doctors that Zen had fluid formulating in his head, and the child was at last treated with a deadly brain tumor.
The TV host said, “Immediately we had to have surgery.” After ensuing surgeries and procedures, Cannon said over Thanksgiving Zen’s health changed direction and the baby’s tumor started to become worse rapidly.
The comedian stated that his son took his last breath on Sunday and lost the battle against the disease, but emphasized the moment they spent witnessing the sunrise together that morning.
Cannon said “This weekend I made a valid effort to spend the most quality time I could spend with Zen,” adding “Holding my son for the last time, it was a beautiful setting.”
Cannon Watched Sunday’s Sunrise and Sunset With His Infant Son
Cannon said “Usually on Sundays I kinda handle everything I need to handle with the family and then I fly back to New York so I can be here (for the show),” adding “By the time I got in the car and was headed to the airport, I had to turn around.”
He then continued to say “Not only did we see the sunrise we got to see the sunset, too.”
The little Zen, with whom Cannon was blessed with model Alyssa Scott, was the youngest child of Cannon. He welcomed his oldest children, 10 years old twins Moroccan and Monroe, with Mariah Carey.
While gesturing to his studio audience, Cannon said “I didn’t know how I was gonna handle today but I just really wanted to grieve with my family,” adding “I prayed for the miracle of God’s strength, and that’s why I’m here with you guys today.”
