About the Covid Situation
The news broke out today i.e., on January 4, 2021, that uplift has been observed in the corona cases in the United States as the fourth wave of Omicron has started to spread.
Specifically talking about Los Angeles, where till Sunday the number of positive corona cases reported was two thousand one hundred and sixty-eight.
But on Monday the statistical records showed that the percentage of positive cases has risen to more than the previous count. Till Sunday there were three hundred and two patients in the intensive care unit of the hospitals.
Doctors and Medical Staff’s Briefing About the Covid Condition
The medical director of the Providence Tarzana Medical Center Dr. Thomas Yadegar stated that “there is a lot of feeling of déjà vu” because according to him many people are worried about that what is going to happen next.
The Public Health Department revealed that initially the number of covid cases in younger children were relatively much lesser than the adult cases, but now since December almost around an increment of one hundred and ninety percent has been noted in the reported covid cases among the children of age less than four years old.
The main cause and reason behind this addition in the covid cases among the children are that children are going to schools and due to interaction with other students and school staff members, the spread of coronavirus has rapidly increased.
In addition to that, also because the school management and parents have not followed the covid precautionary measures properly and vigilantly.
Hence the Director of Public Health Department, Barbara Ferrer asks the citizens including the parents, institution managements to play their role in stopping and controlling the spread of covid.
Dr. Thomas Yadegar mentioned that the intensive care and the critical care units have started to fill up again as the number of positive cases of omicron is rising rapidly.
Furthermore, Dr. Thomas told that not only the citizens but the doctors, paramedic staff, pathologists, and the rest of the medical staff no one is saved from the spread of omicron.
One of the nurses of their hospital was working all night and when in the morning she was not feeling well, so she got herself tested for corona, and the reports showed a positive result.
Dr. Thomas briefs about the situation of admitted covid patients saying that the majority of the patient are the ones who did not get their covid vaccine shots and the rest are the ones who did not get their booster shots.
Therefore, the booster doses have been strictly recommended to everyone who got their vaccine shots done earlier to prevent the severity of the covid among the patients and citizens to prevent the spread of covid.
There is no age barrier for the covid booster doses, anyone who is sixteen year old and above and get their booster shots, and children of age twelve to fifteen years old can get their booster shots once the required period has passed after their second dose of covid vaccine for the booster dose.
The Department of Health has reduced the required period for a booster dose for the children of age bracket twelve to fifteen years old from six months to five months.

What Should “We” Do?
Now, it is high time again when people around the world should consider the spread of the fourth wave seriously and start implementing the safety and precautionary measures against the covid very particularly and strictly to prevent those horrible and terrifying conditions like a previous time where everyone was locked up in their houses.
Far from their loved ones, people were not allowed to travel anywhere and were not even allowed to leave their houses, putting up masks all the time, using sanitizers after every small activity, and after touching anything.
On top of it, listening to the increase in the number of death rates in the news on televisions or through social media but still were helpless that we cannot do anything to stop it, so now is the time where we should, and we have to take action.
Now is the time when are supposed to stand together, follow the precautionary measures and the decisions taken by the government for the sake of ourselves, for our loved ones and families.
For the sake of entire humanity, as we all are aware of the fact that omicron, the fourth variant is the most dangerous one, it spreads very rapidly, and its symptoms are also very painful and the risk of death is also high in it as compared to previous variants.
So, everyone should stand up, do their part, and help the world again to fight against this new layer of covid.
