The Teasers and Trailers
Update: Peaky Blinders Season 6 was officially released on Netflix from June 10, 2022.
The final season of the crime series Peaky Blinders has been one of the most awaited seasons with everyone at the edge of their seats every time a new teaser is released. On New Year’s Day of 2022, a full trailer for Season Six was released.
The trailer spread like fire and in the very next minutes, almost every Tommy Shelby fan had watched it. The trailer had scenes of some epic clashes between the rivals, Thomas Shelby, the main character of the series, and his nemesis Mosley.
In the previous year, in late November, a teaser was aired by BBC One that showed Tommy confronting Alfie Solomons and Tommy says to Alfie that he has written the final act for Alfie.
Another teaser clip was also released on the early dates of December that confirmed the return of Ada Shelby as she warns Tommy that at the end, either of them would not be there for long.
Stephen Graham also appears in a new trailer, which multiplies the hype of the season as the mysterious character of Graham is approached by Tommy for a conversation. The line that Graham delivers talks a lot about the show’s dynamics.
The Promise of the Director and Creator
The creator of the show, Steven Knight, believes that the season finale will be the best season. He says the crew is returning with a “bang” and that the fans will love it.
The creator also hinted towards a possible Peaky Blinders movie, saying that the story may continue in any other form.

Due to the shift in plans during the Covid 19 pandemic as the social distancing guidelines caused the shooting to halt, Knight said that it surely did affect them but his motive has always been clear, to end Peaky Blinders with a movie, and he assures that it is going to happen.
As if the six seasons were not enough for the fans, even the thought of a Peaky Blinders movie gives goosebumps.
The filming of season six ended in the sixth month of 2021, but the director Anthony Byrne said that there was a lot more to do with the post-production team. All we have had to do is to wait.

The New and Returning Cast Members
One of the reasons that Peaky Blinders has been such a hit is the perfect casting for the show. The main character of the show, Thomas Shelby is played by one of the finest actors of the industry, Cillian Murphy.
The actor has received an appraisal for the role worldwide. The fascist politician and the main nemesis Oswald Mosley are played by Sam Claflin. The relationship of the two has had a drastic change nonetheless.
Other main cast includes Arthur Shelby played by Paul Anderson, Michael Gray played by Finn Cole, Finn Shelby played by Harry Kirton and Ada Thorne played by Sophie Rundle. We might also expect the return of Linda Shelby as Kate Phillips was spotted on the sets.
Another person who will surely make the show worth watching is Tom Hardy who’d return as Alfie Solomons. Stephen Graham, as mentioned earlier, has also been in the cast but we do not know much about his mysterious character.
It was never guaranteed that Graham would be on the show and now that he finally is, everyone is waiting for his addition to this already top-class show.
Grace, Tommy’s first wife played by Annabelle Wallis is also expected to return, haunting her husband as the actress tweeted that Grace has some unfinished business.
Natasha O’Keefe’s Lizzie, the second wife of Tommy, is also expected to return. Aimee Edwards was also spotted on the sets, so we can expect the return of Esme Shelby, Tommy’s Sister in law.
The Death of Helen Mccrory
The tragic news that broke the hearts of millions of fans was the death of Helen McCrory. The actress died following a cancer diagnosis in April 2021. The actress played the role of Polly Gray, famously known as Aunt Polly.
Cillian Murphy said that McCrory was not only her closest colleague but also an inspiration. While talking to the Guardian, he said that the actress was one of the finest actors he had worked with.
She made every scene and every moment special, expressed one emotion after another while being all cool and fun. The actor said that he was in awe about how balanced the woman spent her life.
McCrory had not filmed any scene before her death, as confirmed by Murphy. So the fans would surely be missing Aunt Polly in action. Murphy said that she would have been in the season if Corona would not have delayed the shooting.
Helen was the heart of the show. Her character brought a charm to the entire episode. All the actors felt her absence.
Fans wait for the season finale which may debut anytime now on Netflix and BBC One. Among all the characters that are returning, the fans will surely miss Helen McCrory’s Polly Gray as the show comes to its end.
Let us all hope that the show stands well to its standards and the ending does justice to the show.
