What if Tony Stark’s technology ends up in the wrong hands? Find out in Marvel Studios’ Armor Wars, a new Disney+ series from Marvel Studios.
Armor Wars is a new American online television series based on the same-named Marvel Comics event.
The film is a follow-up to Avengers: Endgame. This is Marvel Cinematic Universe’s twenty-third television series and an entrance to Phase 4. Marvel Studios is developing the series, which will premiere on Disney+.
Don Cheadle returns to the character of James Rhodes — nicknamed War Machine — in this classic Marvel narrative, which was revealed during The Walt Disney Company’s 2020 Investor Day presentation by Kevin Feige, president, Marvel Studios, and chief creative officer, Marvel.
Phase-4 of MCU
Marvel Studios is gearing up to usher in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, cashing the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Marvel Studios will unleash a slew of must-see blockbusters and Disney+ shows in 2022 as it continues to expand its vast world.
The range, which will be released in cinemas and on Disney+, seeks to bring an otherworldly aspect, both supernatural and cosmic, the MCU’s earlier chapters have set that up.
Fans may expect new heroes in Moon Knight, Secret Invasion, in addition to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Don Cheadle as War Machine
In a new Marvel Studios Disney+ series called Armor Wars; Don Cheadle will play War Machine. Since the beginning, Colonel James Rhodes has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Cheadle didn’t take up the character until Iron Man 2.
Cheadle has been able to play War Machine in many MCU films since replacing Terrence Howard. His whole career has been linked to his connection with Tony Stark, dubbed Iron Man.
After Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame, War Machine’s future in the MCU was uncertain. There were no projects that he was assured to be a part of when Marvel Studios introduced the Phase 4 roster of movies and Disney+ series.
On the other hand, War Machine appeared to be on the verge of returning, although in a supporting role. Marvel sought to develop a War Machine solo picture early on, but it was never made, keeping him out of a prominent role until today.
During Disney’s Investor Day 2020, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced that one of the new MCU Disney+ projects in development is a series starring Don Cheadle’s War Machine.
Armor Wars is based on David Michelinie and Bob Layton’s seven-issue comic series of the same name that ran from 1987 to 1988. Iron Man is followed by Armor War in the comics when Stark technology is stolen, but in the MCU, it will be War Machine at the core.
This brief Armor Wars arc becoming a Disney+ series would finally allow Marvel Studios to give one of its most important supporting characters a chance to shine.
To this point, War Machine has appeared in seven MCU films, but he has yet to have his opportunity to shine or show fans some of his famous War Machine experiences that he likes to boast about.
Armor Wars will change that on all fronts while also allowing the MCU to maintain some of Iron Man’s characters in the MCU. With Tony Stark no longer alive, it’ll be intriguing to see Rhodey try to keep his best friend’s technology out of the vicious hands.
Like all of Marvel Studios’ programming, Armour Wars will be the newest opportunity to combine aspects from the MCU’s past, present, and future.
In the comics, Tony Stark worked with Scott Lang to figure out who stole his technology, and Avengers: Endgame helped develop a comical rivalry between Ant-Man and War Machine.
Because Rhodey isn’t quite as tech-savvy as Tony, he’ll most likely enlist Scott’s assistance in tracking down the missing hardware, or he may call out to Riri Williams, who will star in an Ironheart Disney+ series.
Because Justin Hammer obtains Tony’s stolen ideas in this plot, Armor Wars might be a chance for the MCU to reintroduce Sam Rockwell as the Iron Man 2 villain.
Because Armor Wars was only recently revealed, it may be some time before such information is confirmed.
Marvel Studios hasn’t yet announced the release date of Armor Wars, nor has it commented about its production. However, it is speculated that this would be released somewhere between 2022 and 2023.
