The Batman Is on Track for March Release Date Despite Omicron

The die-hard fans are eagerly waiting to see The Batman or maybe just Robert Pattinson on the big screen later this year can relax since the CEO of WarnerMedia Jason Kilar, has confirmed that despite the increasing coronavirus cases, the latest take on the DC Comics hero is on time for its scheduled theatrical release of March 4, 2022.

The “detective noir” film was initially planned to be a standalone action movie starring Ben Affleck as part of the DC Extended Universe.

So far, it has bypassed Sony’s bad fortune following they moved the rollout of both Morbius and their scheduled Spider-Man spin-off to spring this year.

Putting an end to fan concerns regarding the future of the thriller movie, in a recent interview with Puck News, Kilar said that they “feel good about the [planned release] date right now.”

He added further, “We’re certainly paying attention to everything going on with omicron,” he added. “We’re gonna watch it day by day.”

The much-awaited blockbuster, which has Matt Reeves for the direction, the one who has directed War of the Planet of the Apes and Cloverfield, has already been postponed twice because of several problems that arose due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thankfully, despite the emergence of the highly contagious omicron variant like the Dark Knight over Gotham, things appear to have been back on track for now, with the movie scheduled to have a 45-day exclusive release in theatres before being available to watch on HBO Max.

Different from most single superhero films, The Batman isn’t only a run-of-the-mill origin story. Rather, we will be catching up with Bruce and his trustworthy butler Alfred Pennyworth (played by Andy Serkis) 2 years into his crime-fighting double life.

Classic DC villain The Riddler (played by Paul Dano) is ready to be key to the storyline after encouraging the Caped Crusader’s doubts after a sequence of murders takes place in Gotham.

The Riddler isn’t the sole familiar name loyal Batman fans will be aware of, since characters like The Penguin (portrayed by Colin Farrell) and Catwoman (played by Zoë Kravitz) are also planned to be seen in the film.

So, we are assured that we will be watching the star-studded flick in cinemas soon, and meanwhile, those who have faded away with the knowledge of Batman by watching all of the Batman movies in serial.
