Raising Dion Season 2 tested our patience for two long years. Finally, the superpower series is returning with its second season in February 2022. Raising Dion is based on the famous comic book of 2015 which was further made into a short film by Dennis Liu.
To give a brief of the story, Nicole Warren played by Alisha WainWright is a widowed mother who becomes aware of her son Dion’s (Ja’Siah Young) gifted superpowers.
The first season is mainly about exploring Dion’s powers and her late husband’s best friend, Pat played by Jason Ritter helped her through it. The struggles of a single mother and the tale of a child with superpowers, it has been quite a journey in season 1.
When Raising Dion was first released in 2019, fans were hoping to get the next installment soon. But after 2-years, we are going to share everything about the upcoming season.
Raising Dion Season 2 Release Date
There are going to be a total of 8 episodes. But the fans do not have to wait for long. The Raising Dion Season 2 will release on February 1st, 2022. So, the first Tuesday of February 2022 will witness a big release.
Raising Dion Season 2 Cast Members
The audience will see the main first-season cast reprising their roles. Young, Wainwright, and Ritter are going to be in the series.
Also, Sammi Haney will play the character, Esperanza, Jasmin Simon will be seen as Kat, Alu Ah as Suzanne Wu, Gavin Munn as Jonathan King, and Griffin Robert Faulkner as Brayden Mills.
However, we will not be seeing Michael B. Jordan playing the role of Nicole’s deceased husband. In Season 1, we have seen frequent appearances of Jordan but Season 2 will be different.
But Jordan is already a part of the series since he is the executive product. Maybe, there might be glimpses of him in the series.
Now, for the new cast, we can see several talented actors joining the team. Rome Flynn, Tracey Bonner, Aubriana Davis, and even Josh Ventura.
Flynn will depict the character of Tevin Wakefield and it is detailed as, “a former long-distance runner and Olympic track coach who becomes Dion’s trainer and mentor.”
Davis is going to a 15-year-old friend Janelle Carr who will establish a close connection with Nicole and Dion. It is Biona who will introduce Davis to the family.
Boner on the other hand will do justice to the role of Janelle’s mother, Simone, and wishes to bring back her daughter to normalcy.
The venture is playing the character, David Marsh, “the new VP Operations for Biona, who hopes to rekindle his relationship with Suzanne Wu.”
Michael Anthony is also a new addition and his character’s name is Gary Stafford. For the character named Joe, we may see Scott Daniel Johnson.
Raising Dion Season 2 Plot
Resuming the plot from where it left, this season will go deep into finding out the secret powers of Nicole. The entire story is about safely raising him since new threats are seen every day.
As per the official Netflix synopsis, Raising Dion Season 2 is going to be about.
“Season 2 follows Dion as he continues honing his powers with the support of his mom and Tevin (Rome Flynn), his Biona trainer who catches Nicole’s eye.
After befriending new student Brayden (Griffin Robert Faulkner)—a fellow powered kid—a series of alarming events unfold, and Dion learns that danger is still looming.
Navigating twists, turns, and surprise visitors, Dion and Nicole must prevail again—not just to save themselves, but the entire city of Atlanta.”
During the Season 1 end, Brayden gets possessed by The Crooked Man, and now, the friendship may undergo a dark turn. So, what’s new in Season 2?
Raising Dion Season 2 Trailer
No, the trailer is yet to be out but the promo images are creating the hype. The images show Nicole and Dion sharing their bond and Pat is coming back but he is wearing handcuffs (we don’t exactly know how). So, maybe Pat will be questioned for his unjust actions?
We also see Dion using his powers and his friends may join him. Finally, the first of the new character Flynn is also revealed.
