The release date of Disco Elysium is scheduled soon, but not much is known about it. What platforms it will be available on, the characters, and the settings? Nothing has been revealed yet. However, we can take our chances and make some educated guesses. We might see them coming to fruition soon as well.
What Is the Release Date of Disco Elysium 2?
There is no officially confirmed release date of Disco Elysium 2. Most probably, the earliest we see it launching is the start of the year 2023. The original game Disco Elysium took around three years to develop.
And from what we know, the development most likely did not begin on the second part until after Disco Elysium: The Final Cut was released in March of 2021.
We know from an interview with GamingBolt that ZA/UM has enormous plans and intends to do more with the Disco Elysium Universe.
The publication of the interview had a quote from the lead writer Helen Hindpere that said that the future holds more for Elysium, years have been spent on designing this world, and we are not ready to exit yet.
Martinaise (part of Disco Elysium universe) is just a tiny part of Revachol, and Revachol is just one capital among various others. So there are multiple possibilities and the chance of growth in the future; who knows where the future is going to take us in the universe of Disco Elysium.
As per the creator of this fascinating, magnificent universe of Disco Elysium, Robert Kurvitz, nearly world history of six thousand years has already been sketched out in the Disco Elysium world.
Therefore, there is enough material available for any future sequel or, in fact, a prequel. However, the return of Harry or Kim is highly doubtful. Like the original game had the entire amnesiac detective hook, that is something almost impossible to duplicate and create again.
Hence, it is most probably true that we will get to see and experience a new and fresh narrative device being used in the second game in the series.
As we all are very familiar with, the Inner Thought system was maybe the most significant hallmark of the Disco Elysium original part. That is the reason why developers would most likely use it in the Disco Elysium 2 as well, in a slightly different and modified way.
What Platforms Will Disco Elysium 2 Will Be Available on?
We will most likely see Disco Elysium releasing on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Since the game will have low hardware requirements, it will most likely be seen releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch as well.
The Release of the Original
The complicated Sci-fi narrative tremendous Disco Elysium is considered one of the most impressive indie releases on Nintendo Switch. The original part was officially released on October 15, 2019. Disco Elysium is a role-playing game.
It features an open world and heavy dialogue mechanics. It is presented in an isometric perspective, giving a chance to the player to be in control. The player takes the role of a detective.
And for a detective, the interesting twist is that he suffers from alcohol and drug-induced amnesia and is solving a murder case.
It takes around 60+ hours to finish Disco Elysium if you play continuously and you are a reasonably competent player. It will take you 90 hours if you want to enjoy every moment and savor every single detail and well around 30 hours if you just want to rush.
The original part created a lot of hype and made its name in the gamer’s community. Likewise, everyone has high expectations from Disco Elysium 2. Hopefully, we will have more information about it pretty soon.
