A release date for Borderlands 4 is certain. The incredibly notorious franchise just becomes bigger with each entry, and Gearbox is aware that it’s going to bring a lot of money. So, we will see a new Borderlands game, the sole question left is when.
Let’s have a look at probable release timing and platforms below.
When Will Borderlands 4 Be Released?
There is no official announcement made yet by Gearbox about a Borderlands 4 release date. The studio has not even confirmed that the game is under development.
Although each Borderlands game has begun pre-production nearly right after the earlier one came out, it’s nearly inevitable that primary work is being performed over the much-awaited game at the very least.
It’s possible that if Borderlands 4 isn’t in complete development yet, it will be following the launch of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands which is set to come out on March 25, 2022.
As of now, that’s the sole game the studio has confirmed, so following the release of the same, we may expect Gearbox’s slate to provide at least any hint. There was a gap of nearly 4 to 5 years between each main Borderlands game, hence we expect that Borderlands 4 will come out sometime in 2023-2024.
Although Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a sequel of Borderlands, it will consist of much of the same signature humor and gameplay as well, even in a western fantasy setting.
A few players might not bother about the inclusion of melee weapons, but it will consist of the same zany formally generated loot as the key series games. It’s not apparent what, if any, impact the game will have on the overall stories.
Tiny Tina is portraying the character of a dungeon master, but we may expect to see other characters from the Borderlands series show up as well.
What Platforms Is It Coming Out on?
The release date for Borderlands 4 is probably far enough out that we don’t expect it any time soon. We expect it to come out soon on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
We will keep you informed with all the latest updates on the subject until then stay tuned.
