Mission Impossible 7 and 8: Will It Ever Going To Happen?

The release of the 7th Mission Impossible film is delayed once again. The film was originally scheduled to be released in July of 2021.

The Corona Virus and The Impossible Mission

The Rise of the Corona Virus across the United States and Europe has caused the release of action flicks of Tom Cruise, The Mission Impossible 7, and Mission Impossible 8 to be delayed.

The production firm told Variety that Paramount Pictures and Skydance had jointly agreed to delay the release due to the ongoing pandemic. The production firms’ motive is to provide an unforgettable theatrical experience for the audience.

The Mission Impossible films are known for the stunts and dangerous scenes and those too, without much reliance on the green screen and CGI. Tom Cruise performs most of his scenes himself and that requires a large team to be executed without any issues.

Another big issue is the team’s shoots arranged in different locations all around the world. The recent films were shot in the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, and many other countries.

Now, one, the requirement of several people and traveling from one place to another are both something that is heavily hampered in the post-pandemic world.

The Mission Impossible Franchise

Tom Cruise has been playing the main character of the Mission Impossible franchise for almost 25 years.

The first Mission Impossible film came out in 1996. The sixth film of the Franchise, Mission Impossible: Fallout grossed 791.1 million dollars all around the world, making it the highest-earning film of the franchise.

Tom Cruise plays the role of an IMF agent Ethan Hunt who is a uniquely trained and highly motivated agent who is up for any mission and goes to any heights to complete it.

The movies are notorious for pushing the action genre’s boundaries with one trademark stunt serving as the centerpiece of each promotion. The first and second films of the franchise were major box office successes and set the road for the upcoming films.

The films that came later were full of action as the protagonist, Hunt, got himself into more explosive stories and grittier missions. Every movie is better and heftier in production than the previous one.

The latest of the films is the highest-rated and highest-grossing, giving a big challenge to the upcoming films.

Some footage of the Mission Impossible 7 was shown to the theatre owners by Tom Cruise and McQuarrie including some of the death-defying scenes performed by Cruise. McQuarrie said in a video that what scares him is what is yet to come for the 8th film of the franchise.

The New Release Date

The 7th film of the franchise was to be originally released on 23rd July last year.

After delays due to the pandemic, the new release date, according to Variety, is July 14th, 2023 Instead of 30th September this year. ‘Mission: Impossible 8’ will now be released on June 28, 2024, instead of July 7, 2023, as originally planned.

The Cast of the Movie

No matter how late the movie is, we all know that it is going to be worth the wait. The Mission Impossible: Fallout filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie is on board to direct the seventh and eighth MI movie.

With Tom Cruise as the main protagonist of the movie, the cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Angela Bassett, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney, and Charles Parnell.

Nicholas Hoult had to be replaced by Esai Morales for the villain of the movie. Everyone is excited to see Esai play against Tom as the villain.

The Mission Impossible movies have their class and charisma and leave us all on the edge of our seats and eyes glued to the screens. All that is to be said is that we have to wait another year for the return of our favorite protagonist.
