Netflix Updated About Pinocchio, Trailer & Release Date

It was Netflix that released the first glimpse of the highly anticipated film. So, we can expect that this giant streaming platform has owned the rights of releasing the film on its platform.

It is confirmed that Ewan McGregor will be voicing Sebastian J. Cricket in Pinocchio. Sebastian resides inside the heart of a wooden puppet who will come to life one fine day.

Also, the release may be anytime in December. Only the dates are not shared but we will get to know it eventually.

Since it was a short clip, we couldn’t exactly tell you about the entire storyline. But the cricket was heard saying in the trailer, “I want to tell you a story,” McGregor’s Cricket says in the teaser trailer. “It’s a story you may think you know but you don’t, not really. You see, I, Sebastian J. Cricket, was there. I lived — lived — in the heart of the wooden boy.”

So, it is quite a narration coming from one of the main characters we will see in the film.

The legendary music composer, Alexandre Desplat who wrote soul-touching music for the Oscar-winning films The Shape of Water and The Grand Budapest Hotel will also write the music for this.

Back in 2012, Toro explained to EW in an interview about the relation of Pinocchio’s story to Frankenstein, “They are both about creatures that are created and then get lost in a world they don’t understand,” and he continued, “And they are both journeys of understanding, and journeys of the evolution of the spirit.”
