MLB the Show 22’s Cover Athlete, Release Date, and Platforms Have Been Revealed 

About MLB: the Show and Its Releasing Platforms

MLB stands for Major League Baseball and MLB: The Show is a video game series which is produced by San Diego Studio. The first part of this series was released in 2006 on PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable and since then each year a new part is being released.

After releasing on PlayStation for a long time, due to certain issues, from the twentieth part it had not been broadcasted on PlayStation instead was released on several other platforms. 

MLB: The Show 21 part was the very first one to be released on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Whereas the upcoming part of the game, which is MLB: The Show 22, would be the first one to be released on Nintendo Switch and would be available then through Nintendo consoles.

Part twenty-two of MLB: The Show is published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. This part is going to be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S as well. 

The initial parts of the MLB belong to 989 sports which started from 1989 and continued till 2005, but from 2006, MLB upgraded as MLB: The Show and its later parts started to release from part six as MLB 06: The Show.

The main leading stars or cover athletes of each and every part of the series are David Ortiz as the cover athlete of Boston Red Sox in MLB 06: The Show, which is the first part of the game, David Wright as the cover athlete of New York Mets in MLB 07: The Show which is the second part of the game.

Ryan Howard as the cover athlete of Philadelphia Phillies in MLB 08: The Show which is the third part of the game, Dustin Pedroia as the cover athlete of Boston Red Sox in MLB 09: The Show which is the fourth part of the game, Joe Mauer as the cover athlete of Minnesota Twins in MLB 10 and 11: The Show which are the fifth and sixth parts of the game. 

Then, Adrian Gonzalez as the cover athlete of Boston Red Sox in MLB 12: The Show which is the seventh part of the game, Andrew McCutchen as the cover athlete of Pittsburgh Pirate in MLB 13: The Show which is the eighth part of the game.

Release Date of MLB: the Show 22

MLB: The Show 22 would be launching on April 5, 2022. The upcoming part of the series is not going to release only on one platform, but it would be released on various platforms such as on PlayStation 4, PlayStation5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

The story of the upcoming part would revolve around a mysterious plot which has not been disclosed yet but the role of the cover athlete would be played by Shohei Ohtani as his career accomplishments match with the storyline and with the demand of the character according to the publishing group, Sony Interactive Entertainment.
