People Travel From All Over the Country to Get Their Hands on One of These Special Pies.

Becky Wolfe established Oxbow Bakery in Palestine, Texas, more than a decade ago. She is the owner and baker. Soon after, her son David Wolfe made the decision to join her on the journey. As of now, this mother-son team works nearly seven days a week, every week, to supply delicious, homemade pies to residents of East Texas.

This bakery’s pie menu includes 13 distinct varieties of pies such as Cherry Cream Cheese, Banana Blueberry, Chocolate Pecan, Chocolate Meringue, Coconut Meringue, Pecan Praline Cream, and the classic Buttermilk. They also sell pie by the slice if you don’t want to purchase the entire pie (which we assure you, you will!!).

Oxbow Bakery is a wonderful sight to behold from the street, with a hand-painted sign saying “Oxbow General Store” hanging on the porch, which was painted by Becky’s mother and reads “Oxbow General Store.”

Becky’s mother used to own and operate the Oxbow General Store in Palestine, so when Becky launched her bakery, the name “Oxbow” was carried over from her mother’s business. Other family heirlooms can be found in the bakery’s general store, which is located inside the building.

One other noteworthy feature is the guest book that they have on their website. If you flip through the pages, you’ll see the names of folks who have traveled from all over the country (and some from other countries as well) just to get their hands on an Oxbow pie.

Oxbow Bakery is located at 215 E. Crawford Street in the heart of Old Town Palestine. You can get driving directions by clicking here.

Their current business hours are Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (EST).
