Cloud Chamber, the developer behind the franchise of Bioshock has reportedly suffered a huge loss. Due to this, the production of Bioshock 4 has been delayed indefinitely. It was sad news for the entire fandom, especially for those who were expecting the Netflix adaptation to soon premiere.
But what does this mean about the future of BioShock 4? And most importantly has the company revealed any official news regarding this situation? Well, you’ll read all about it later in the article!
As per the Kotaku report, this is not the first iteration of BioShock 4! It has been in its development phase since 2016. In the following years, a lot of issues surfaced but they eventually got solved. However, now that the team has lost important leading members things are not looking too good for the franchise.
The reasons for the departure of 40 staff members from Cloud Chamber are still unknown. There are certain speculations but no one can vouch for their credibility. However, this is not the first time that the employees have left the franchise in the past too certain members were “fired for confidential reasons”.

Ever since “Bioshock” creator Ken Levine commemorated his studio the game has been struggling. Despite all these hardships, the game is still in its development phase. So, that’s a heads up! We are not even sure what the 4th installment of BioShock will entail. As the previous part’s DLCs ended on an uncertain note.
But chances of it being a sequel to “Infinite” are high. As the team has changed several times we are still digging up information to be sure of its story. Hence up till then stay tuned!
There will be a lot of things different from Infinite. But the site of Cloud Chamber has a small lighthouse in the corner. And there’s always a lighthouse. So, this might be an Easter egg for the fandom.
Kelly Gilmore in an interview talked highly of the game’s settings and new features. The mentioning of “yet to be discovered worlds” hints at completely new realms being a part of BioShock 4. But as things are now at a halt for some time we are hoping that everything works out soon!
Bioshock 4 Release Date
Two-Take Interactive had previously predicted the game to come somewhere before 2024. Even after the news of 40 staff members leaving Cloud Chamber, they haven’t changed their statement.
Although this seems like something to celebrate we can’t be sure about it because they might be taking their time to confirm from the official sources. Hence the best thing to do right now is to remain patient.
The new team is still being recruited and the insider who leaked this news also revealed that 2K is not pleased with the pace of events. The official authorities have still not addressed this issue which means that we might be worrying about something which does not need our attention for now.
Cloud Chambers is currently hiring people for certain jobs like producers, engineers, level designers, environment artists, combat designers, and a lot more vacancies. As the studio hardly reveals anything to the public we are way too behind on major details of the game. Concludingly we do not have an official release date for the game yet.
Today, @2K announced the founding of Cloud Chamber, its newest development studio. This team of storytellers has begun work on the next iteration of the acclaimed
BioShock franchise, which will be in development for the next several years.
