Nick Cannon tested a song from his former wife Mariah Carey’s in his new single, “Alone” and notes people are reading into that.
On Wednesday in his daytime talk show, Cannon replied to reports that he was utilising the song in an attempt to get Carey back.
“Alone” shows a sample from Carey’s 1990 hit “Love Takes Time,” which he stated was one of his most loved.
He says “I say I’m cool when I know I miss it/I’d trade it all for the case if I could have you back/If I could go back where we started at,” Cannon raps in the song, which some explained as his longing to reunify with Carey.
The duo was married from 2008 through 2016 and are the parents to 10 years old twins and their names are Moroccan and Monroe.
In his show on Wednesday, Cannon interpreted that the song is off of his forthcoming mixed tape, in which he has “real, raw and personal” and mentioned whilst some may have thought that he is making an attempt to get back together with Carey, “That’s impossible.”
He stated about the single which was released on Valentine’s Day “The song is really about reflection,” adding further “You realize ‘Man I really messed up.’ I had probably the greatest situation, I had my dream girl and I messed it up.”
