“Gangs of London” isn’t going to be on anyone’s list of most obvious video game adaptations in recent movies and television.
It’s well known that the British crime drama series is based on the 2006 open-world computer game of the same name, which proves that inspiration for critically-acclaimed and captivating narrative can genuinely come from anywhere.
Of course, the show takes place in central London, where the different gangs — some local and some foreign — are vying for influence and domination over the city. You could think of it as a modernized retelling of the Cillian Murphy-starring BBC series “Peaky Blinders,” complete with the same level of political intrigue, power struggles, and competing gang rivalries.
When “Gangs of London” premiered in the United Kingdom in April 2020, Gareth Evans was involved in a substantial chunk of the show’s production, and the network’s decision to order a second season indicates its faith in both the creative team and fanbase that the program has built since then.
As a result, there has been a long period of waiting for fans since the conclusion of Season 1, but perhaps, their perseverance will be rewarded later this year. Everything we know regarding “Gangs of London” Season 2 so far are listed below.

When and Where to Watch Gangs of London Season 2
“Gangs of London” has had one of the most polarising receptions of any show to date. We in the United States were unable to watch the show until it was made available in the United Kingdom on April 23, 2020.
An agreement with Cinemax fell by the wayside when HBO Max arrived, and “Gangs of London” was one of the first shows to suffer as a result of WarnerMedia’s shift in strategy. When the series launched digitally in October 2020, only AMC+ subscribers were allowed to see it.
This decision was likely taken in hopes of attracting more subscribers in time for the second season of the show to be available on AMC’s normal cable channel in April of 2021. Until then, AMC+ subscribers may still see the first nine episodes of the season.
In other words, when can we expect the premiere of Season 2? All we can say for sure at this point is that the second season will launch in early 2022. As recently as December, Sky released a teaser for the upcoming season, promising that the show would return in 2022.
Gangs of London Season 2: What We Know So Far
Season 1 of “Gangs of London” began with the assassination of London’s top crime lord, Finn Wallace, who had held the position for the preceding twenty years or more and provided stability to the scene.
To figure out who killed his father and why Sean is determined to learn as much as possible about his father’s business and the criminal world at large. Even while Sean’s ascent to prominence has a ripple effect, it eventually leads to escalating attacks, attempted murders, and even the detention and interrogation of government officials by various criminal factions.
Even while the exact release date of Season 2 has been kept a secret, the first season has left Sean with a far different perspective on his father’s legacy than when he initially began his trip.
With him gone in the season finale, the second season has a lot of room to explore, especially with Elliot Finch, the undercover detective who seeks to infiltrate the Wallace criminal family but ends up getting sucked more and deeper into their web of intrigue. It has been revealed that Season 2 will take place a year after Season 1. According to certain reviews, Season 2 is like this:
“Since the collapse of the Wallace Dumani empire, order is lacking, and the energy and chaos of a gold rush threatens the city with gangland anarchy. The Investors are viewing the city as a place of ruin and decide enough is enough. Licensing a new gang to restore stability, drama instead ensues. These brutal enforcers bring a new kind of authority, coldly designed to terrorize the other gangs into submission. Anyone doing business in the city must now go through them, and our gangs must decide where their loyalties lie if they are to survive.”
