This year’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever cast member Dominique Thorne has finished filming after months of production.
Ironheart actress Dominique Thorne has confirmed she has finished filming for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Wakanda Forever, the highly anticipated sequel to Black Panther, is scheduled to premiere in November.
Coogler returns as director, while the cast is largely made up of characters from the first film, including Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett. Chadwick Boseman, the star of Black Panther 2, died in 2020, so the sequel will be without him.
Black Panther 2’s plot details are still being kept under wraps. It’s no secret that there are a lot of fan theories floating around about which characters and plotlines might appear in the movie.
Michaela Coel joined Black Panther 2 last summer in an undisclosed role, making her one of the MCU’s newest additions. Although it’s not yet known when Thorne’s own show on Disney+ will premiere as Riri Williams, or Ironheart, she makes her debut in the film.
Thorne will mark the end of her first MCU project this weekend. ‘And that is a picture wrap on Riri Williams,’ captioned the actress in Judas and the Black Messiah’s Instagram Stories. Black Panther 2 has been in the works since June 21 of last year, according to her Facebook post. Also, Thorne penned, “God is truly amazing. In November, we’ll see each other again.” Below, you can read her post.
There has been a lot of turmoil in the making of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Filming began in June of last year but was repeatedly postponed. On top of that, there were rumors about Wright’s vaccination status that were causing a stir.
In January, there were rumblings of a further delay for Black Panther 2, but Thorne’s post suggests that the long journey may be coming to an end. Even if this helps, it’s possible that the movie’s release date will be delayed.
Riri Williams is Tony Stark’s successor as Iron Man in the comics, but she goes by the name Ironheart.
