Based on the hugely popular Winx Club animation series, Fate: The Winx Saga is a new Netflix original teen fantasy drama series. Three directors handled the directorial duties: Lisa James Larsson, Hannah Quinn, and Stephen Woolfenden. Brian Young, the show’s creator, will return for season 2. Archery Pictures, Rainbow S.p.A., and Young Blood Productions worked together on the show.

Does Fate: the Winx Saga Have a Second Season in the Works?
Update: Fate: the Winx Saga Season 2 was officially released from 16 Sept. 2022 on Netflix.
Renewed (Last Updated: 18/02/2021) is the official Netflix renewal status. In June 2020, we revealed that Ozark, Warrior Nun, and Fate: The Winx Saga have been renewed.
Netflix didn’t divulge the news of the second season of Fate: The Winx Saga until February 2021, when the company announced it on Twitter. On the subject of renewal: The showrunner, Brian Young, had this to say about the renewal:
“The six episodes in season one only scratched the surface of this incredibly rich world and the powerful fairies who inhabit it. As Bloom’s story evolves, I can’t wait for you to learn more about Aisha, Stella, Terra, and Musa! And you never know who might show up at Alfea next term…”

Must go for
As of now, Bridgerton is the most-watched television show in several countries, including the United States. When Fate: The Winx Saga premiered on the 23rd of January, it was the series that ultimately defeated the period drama. The Original’s reign at the top lasted just eight days before Bridgerton snatched the throne away from him.
What About the Conflict Surrounding the Series?
Naturally, any live-action version of the Winx Club will be scrutinized due to the franchise’s cult following.
Aside from the show’s overall quality, casting decisions have been the show’s biggest source of contention. It was decided to cast a white actress, Emily Applebaum, to play the role of Musa, a character based on Chinese-American actress Lucy Lui.
Flora’s character was eliminated in favor of Eliot Salt’s Terra Harvey, which enraged fans. Even though Salt hinted about Flora’s likely second-season appearance (and we can confirm this to be the case shortly). According to critics, the show should not have been canceled based on these “controversies.”
Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 Cast
This season will include at least three new characters, and in July 2021, we learned how they will be portrayed.
Paulina Chávez will portray Flora, an Earth fairy like her cousin Terra, who has a laid-back demeanor but a dark secret to hide. They’re looking for a Hispanic woman to play this part.
Éanna Hardwick will take on the role of Sebastian. Sebastian, who appeared in the second season of World of Winx, is expected to join the Netflix series. This person is described as having a brilliant mind, but questionable morality, by the professors.
Brandon Grace has been cast as Grey – We couldn’t discover any mention of Grey in the original animated series (tell us if we’re wrong). Transgender dude labeled as an expert with a secret (everyone in season 2 has a secret!). With his “charismatic charms” in season 2 of the show, he’ll be able to form a romantic relationship with Aisha.
Up to August of 2021, more casting will be taking place. According to a report on MovieExtras.ie, the show is seeking identical twins for season 2. As far as we know, there were no identical twins in the source material.
Season 2’s Devin is slated to be played by Jayden Revri (of The Lodge and Dead Boy Detectives fame).
Where Is the Second Season of Fate: the Winx Saga Being Made?
A start date for production has yet to be confirmed, but we do know that filming will resume in Dublin, Ireland, sometime between mid-July and late November of 2021.
From the six episodes of season 1, it is projected that season 2 would have eight episodes. We received word on July 20th, 2021, that filming had begun with the addition of the additional cast members. Season 2 filming has returned to Ireland’s County Wicklow. Avoca, Ireland, is where we believe some of the filmings took place.
Many cast members documented their stay on set with videos and images on social media throughout August 2021. The Twitter account FateWinxNews has done an outstanding job of collecting photos of the cast and staff during the production.

The filming is expected to wrap up in November 2022, according to social media posts from several of the cast members.
On the 22nd of January, 2022, producer Brian Young provided the following update:
“We’re still working on it, and will be for a while!
I know it seems like it takes forever, but a show like #FateTheWinxSaga has a complicated and intense post-production process. Luckily, we’ve got an amazing team of editors, VFX artists, composers, music supervisors, sound designers, colorists, and more to see us through it. And rest assured, everyone is working their butts off every single day to make sure we’re giving you the best version of the show we can.
The good news is, it’s all going smoothly and we’re so excited for you to see it when it’s ready. And trust me, the moment I’m allowed to share ANYthing I will!!!”
