U.S. District Judge Kevin Michael Moore has sentenced the 22-year-old-rapper, Pooh Shiesty, to five years and three months in prison. Originally named Lontrell Donell Williams Jr., he uses Pooh Shiesty as his stage name for his performances. The decision was taken in Miami Federal Court, and the decision was passed on Wednesday.
The news of 63 months’ imprisonment came after three-plus months after getting charged with firearms conspiracy. The charges have been made for possessing firearms while being involved in an armed robbery. It happened in a Florida hotel. The crime history related to this rapper has got denser with every passing year and so, the prosecution got stricter with their decision.

Let’s start with the latest information regarding the charges of the ‘Back in Blood’ rapper. In January, he got involved in violence and drug trafficking as he was the main one conspiring for it. He was found guilty in this matter and sentenced to almost eight years and one month in prison. In June 2021, he was indicted on four counts due to his October 2020 shooting that happened in Landon Hotel which is located in Bay Harbor Islands, Fla.
The mishap happened when Williams met two individuals and ended up shooting them during the exchange. It was because the entire incident was triggered due to the purchase of marijuana as well as sneakers. Though both the victims survived, the charges were made as the crime was executed.

The judge announced in the 2-hour hearing, “The federal sentencing guidelines placed him at a high end of 107 months, the government agreed to not seek more than 97 months. [and] we argued that the guidelines weren’t appropriately applied and requested 63 months.”

In fact, Bradford Cohen who is the lawyer representing Pooh stated that he is “happy” with the hearing as they expected more time.
He further added, “Listen, nobody’s happy to go to prison, but he was happy the judge listened to our argument, and the judge received the argument well. He was satisfied with the outcome,” “We’re happy with the decision of the court.”
It is also added that if the rapper proves he’s good behavior, then he can be released from prison in three and a half years’ time.
Pooh was considered a young budding talent of the rap community. Williams has made a name for himself by collaborating with the top names in the industry. It became possible after he had his commercial debut in 2019.
