Sources and experts tell Fox News Digital that Amber Heard’s surprise reference to Kate Moss on the stand last week, which made Johnny Depp’s lawyers laugh out loud, could backfire in a big way.
The “Aquaman” actress told jurors on May 5 that the only time she had ever “landed a blow” was in March 2015, when she thought Depp was going to push her sister down the stairs during a fight over his alleged infidelity.

In the 1990s, Johnny Depp and Kate Moss were an item “I don’t think twice. I don’t hold out. I think of Kate Moss and the stairs right away, and I hit him “Heard said this because he had heard that Depp had pushed the supermodel he dated in the 1990s down a flight of stairs.

Ben Chew, Depp’s lawyer, opened his mouth wide and did a fist pump as he turned to his team. His eyes lit up with a look of giddy surprise. Depp, who was sitting next to Chew, looked down at the plaintiff’s table and smiled widely.

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia because of an opinion piece she wrote in 2018 in which she said she was a victim of domestic abuse. He says that this ruined his reputation and career.
In a $100 million countersuit, Heard says that her ex-husband and his former lawyer worked together to hurt her reputation by saying that her abuse claims were made up.
Roland Acevedo, a civil lawyer in Manhattan, said that bringing up the supermodel’s name was a clear mistake that could “blow up in her face.”
“It could make it easier to bring in Kate Moss,” Acevedo said.
“It’s a side issue that courts usually don’t let you bring up, but since the defense opened the door by saying he did it, they may now be able to call her to show it didn’t happen. This could backfire on her.”

Judge Penney Azcarate is the one who will decide whether Moss can or will testify.

A person close to Depp said that he and Moss are still good friends, and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor’s legal team may ask her to testify in his rebuttal case.
Broderick Dunn, a civil lawyer who lives in Virginia, agreed with Acevedo. He said, “I think it’s something Johnny Depp’s lawyers will look into now.” Heard may have been in trouble for more than just the Moss comment. During her testimony, Heard said that Depp hit her for the first time in 2013.

“I knew that hitting a woman was wrong. I knew it was illegal to hit a man, “she spoke up.
Amber Heard slammed the accusation made by Johnny Depp’s team about her.
This statement could let Depp’s team cross-examine Heard about her arrest in 2009 for allegedly hitting her ex-girlfriend Tasya van Ree at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

- Jason Momoa, Amber Heard’s co-star in Aquaman, is a fan of Johnny Depp’s Instagram.
She was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence because she allegedly pulled van Ree’s necklace off and hit her in the arm, but according to Depp’s lawsuit, prosecutors decided not to move forward with the case.
Dunn said that the report about domestic violence could come in now. “If Amber Heard says she “knew she couldn’t hit a woman” and she’s been charged with doing just that, it opens the door for Depp’s team to try to show evidence of any previous assaults,” said Dunn.

After Heard’s mugshot became public, the actress is said to have said that she was arrested on a “false charge” because the police were prejudiced against women and gay people.
The police officer who put her in handcuffs “was both a woman and a lesbian activist,” Depp’s lawyers wrote in the lawsuit. “She said so publicly after Ms. Heard insulted her in public,” the lawyers said.
