Kelly Clarkson Quitting ‘The Voice’ To ‘Spend Time With Her Children’ (LATEST NEWS)

River, 7, and Remington, 5, are the two children that Kelly Clarkson has decided to spend more time within the wake of her divorce, according to OK!

Shelton’s social media announcement on Friday that Gwen Stefani is returning to The Voice for the first time in two years was glaringly missing the talk show host and country crooner.

Stefani and Shelton will be joined by John Legend. “While Kelly hasn’t announced it publicly yet, she’s done with the red chair. She’s quit,” a television insider told OK!.

“She has shifted mindset. After her divorce from (husband) Brandon (Blackstock), Kelly has decided she needs to prioritize her kids. There’s only so much she can do. Something had to give. That something was The Voice.”

OK! has revealed that Clarkson will continue to work in the music television industry even after she steps down from her current position. Snoop Dogg will join her as a co-host on a new NBC show dubbed the American Song Contest. In addition, she serves as executive producer of The Kelly Clarkson Show, her daily chat show.

In June 2022, she divorced Blackstock, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for their seven-year marriage to come to an end.

“She could no longer trust Brandon, and she felt that Brandon was just using her for her money and lifestyle. She had tremendous resentment toward him,” a source told OK!.

In an online interaction with fans, the singer of “Since U Be Gone” hinted at her impending departure from The Voice.

“I’ve decided this year there’s just [going to] be a couple changes for me that I can’t say here,” Clarkson said during a question and answer session. “There’s a couple things happening. I’ve been able to make more time just for me and my kiddos and still be able to work. Just where we can get away on weekends and really do some fun stuff with my kids.”

She stated, “They only want to hang out with you for so long and that’s now so I got to take advantage of that. I’m excited to have more time with them. I mean I have a tonne of time in the morning but I don’t know, I’m selfish. They’re fun.”

During a radio interview with Elvis Duran, Kelly said she would like to take the summer off from work.

“I turned 40 and you know what I’m giving myself for 40? I literally said ‘no’ to everything this summer. I will not do anything this summer. Since I was 16 years old, I haven’t had a summer off. This is my first summer off. I am taking time.”
