As a regular concert tradition in Texas since 1973, Willie Nelson 4th of July Picnic is returning to the stage in 2022. The 10-hour performance, which will feature nine bands and headliner Willie and his Family Band, will take place on July 4th at Austin’s Q2 Stadium, home of the city’s soccer team.
On the bill act like Tyler Childers, Brothers Osborne and Midland, Steve Earle & the Dukes, Asleep at the Wheel, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Charley Crockett, Allison Russell, and Nelson’s son Micah Nelson’s band Particle Kid, who just performed with Nelson at his Luck Reunion. Tickets will go on sale on April 15.

Nelson is gearing up to commemorate his 89th birthday on April 29 by releasing a new record, which he will do while performing largely in outdoor amphitheaters.

Together with Buddy Cannon, Nelson’s frequent creative partner and producer, A Beautiful Time comprise five new songwriting collaborations. There are also two cover songs: The Beatles’ “With a Little Help from My Friends” and Leonard Cohen’s “Tower of Song.”
