According to box office estimates, the Tom Cruise sequel picture has smashed them all. Maverick made $362 million overseas, increasing its worldwide total to $783.8 million. The budget of Top Gun: Maverick is 170 million USD. The picture also set a new high watermark for Cruise’s career in the United States and is expected to easily overtake his global record holder, Mission Impossible: Fallout, which now stands at $791 million in global ticket sales. After inflation, it is expected to surpass the $440 million figure of the original Top Gun, putting it firmly at the top of the Cruise food chain. Until the new Mission Impossible is released.
