Due to her divorce from Johnny Depp, Amber Heard appears to be scrimping and saving. At TJ Maxx in the Hamptons, the “Aquaman” star was seen shopping on Thursday. Before she was sentenced to pay millions for defamatory claims, sources told The Post in early June that the 36-year-old actress is “broke” because of high legal bills related to her and Depp’s sensational trial.
Elaine Bredehoft, the actress’s attorney, responded, “Oh no, absolutely not,” when asked if she had the financial resources to pay for the verdict. Heard was shopping at TJ Maxx in Bridgehampton, NY—where the typical home costs $3.8 million, according to Zillow—so she probably isn’t maxing out her credit cards at the big box store.
A sneaky shopper took pictures that show Heard looking at clothes while wearing jeans and a big white button-down t-shirt. Whitney Henriquez, who has stood by her sister’s side throughout the trial and testified on her behalf, accompanied her to court. What, if anything, did Heard purchased at TJ Maxx is unknown.

According to multiple accounts, Amber Heard was counting on her homeowner’s insurance coverage to pay for her legal representation.
Defendant Johnny Depp sued Heard for $50 million after she claimed that she had become a “public figure representing domestic abuse” and won all three of his defamation claims against her in a Washington Post op-ed in 2018. Only one of three defamation claims against the “Pirates of the Caribbean” was successful in a $100 million countersuit brought by Heard against the film.
According to various sources, she has a net worth of between $1.5 million and $2.5 million – a far cry from what she owes Johnny Depp.
Heard was paid $1 million for “Aquaman” in 2018 and an additional $2 million for the sequel, which will be released the following year, according to testimony in court. In that film, her role has been greatly diminished.
Her pledge to contribute the $7 million she earned from Depp in their 2016 divorce settlement to the American Civil Liberties Union and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles was never kept. Stay tuned with us only on Lee Daily
