The 2022 NBA Draft has become quite interesting already. The Philadelphia 76ers are selecting and picking the season’s stars in their first round of shopping for players. It is confirmed that the 76ers have picked their trade partner.
Reports are out that state about the Philadelphia 76ers trading their star and veteran Danny Green as well as the No. 23 pick to the Memphis Grizzlies. According to the stats, The No. 23 pick is the “Colorado State’s, David Roddy”.

How Will This Move Impact The Philadelphia 76ers?
This was quite a smart move for the Sixers. Melton is a prolific player who can win matches if playing alongside Joel Embiid and James Harden. Melton is known for being a 36 percent shooter who can nail all the long-range persons.
He is a young player who is only 24 years old. The young talent is currently having an average of 1.3 steals per performance. The star has two years still left on the expiry of his current contract. The abilities that Melton has perfectly match the requirements of the 76ers. With him on the team, the season will get interesting.
Will the Grizzlies benefit? Can Danny Green play in the upcoming season?
The picks that the Grizzlies received were Colorado State Guard David Roddy and Danny Green. Now, it is still not clear if Danny can make any contribution to the next season since he is suffering from a serious injury. Danny had torn his left knee’s ACL and LCL. It happened during the postseason and this can lead to the player losing quite an amount of time resting.
Thus, if Danny is going to sign the 2022-23 contract is still questionable. The Grizzlies have time till early July to decide on the deal and reciprocate accordingly. On the other hand, Roddy is not only bigger in stature but also more versatile. Some even claim him to be more talented compared to Melton. He is known for being a well-rounded player but needs to work a bit on “shooting from beyond the arc”. Clearly, there is a lot of potentials.
However, the deal as a whole is pretty good. The 76ers will be getting a teammate that can help them in winning several wins whereas the Grizzlies can see themselves going up in the chart with the two new commendable players.
The Points of Roddy, Melton & Danny
Roddy is younger than Melton as he is only 21. He was recognized as the Mountain West Player of the Year in 2022. So, Roddy got, “19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in 31 appearances last season.”
Whereas Danny was a part of the team during the Eastern Conference semi-finals where they lost against the team Miami Heat. Thus, Danny, “averaged 5.9 points on 39.4 percent shooting last season.”
