Machine Gun Kelly Details Sobering, Paranoia-Induced Suicide Attempt In New Documentary

Hulu released the documentary, “Life in Pink” which is based on Machine Gun Kelly’s life. The rapper whose real name is Colson Baker details his almost suicide attempt that made him realize the impact of drugs in his life.

He revealed this secret in this Hulu documentary and stated that this was the main reason he chose the path of sobriety from hard drugs.

The Paranoia Led Him To Almost Attempt Suicide

MGK got emotional while recalling the final memories he had with his father. The star’s father died in July 2020 and that did push him into a very disturbing state of depression and distress. Meghan Fox was not physically present with her during all these struggles.

She was in Bulgaria to film her upcoming movie. It was in a blink of a moment that MGK called Meghan Fox complaining about how he felt lonely and needed her during that time and put the shotgun he slept with inside his mouth. 

 “One of the days, I just fucking snapped,” “I called Megan, I was like, ‘You aren’t here for me.’ I’m in my room and I’m, like, freaking out on her. Dude, I put the shotgun in my mouth. And I’m yelling on the phone and like the barrels in my mouth. And I go to cock the shotgun and the bullet, as it comes back up, the shell just get jammed. Megan’s like dead silent. That was kind of where I started realizing, like, something’s not right.”

He describes the moments as disturbing when he felt paranoid and landed in a really dark space. It was paranoia always making him think the worst of all the situations. He kept thinking that someone would be coming behind him and killing him. But after he attempted suicide, he felt like he needed to do something for the sake of the family he loves.

The Journey To Sobriety

Things weren’t only hard for him but also for Fox and Colson’s 12-year-old daughter, Casie post this traumatic incident. Casie mentioned to MGK that Meghan and she didn’t want to be talking to you through a veil anymore.”

It was then that MGK decided to quit drugs and start leading a clean life free of any drugs. He focused on his work and spent 15 hours or more creating new music. He became obsessed with proving the success of his “Tickets to my Downfall” and wanted to surpass the success of  “Mainstream Sellout”. MGK got addicted to his work and he got so involved in his work life that he pushed away his loved ones.

The journey to sobriety wasn’t easy. MGK explains the situation asThe problem is, I’m addicted to a new drug and that’s work,” “It feels like I’ve dug a little too deep of a hole in that and I need to get the fuck out of it and dig more into being what matters most, which is like a great father.”

 Since then MGK has worked upon himself to get rid of his addiction. He even talked to the Interview magazine about his therapy and how it is going. Machine Gun Kelly is solely focused on his family and career. He wants to be a good father and husband and that’s all that matters to him now.
