Machine Gun Kelly Opens Up About His Almost Suicide Attempt
Hulu dropped the documentary, “Machine Gun Kelly’s “Life is Pink” on Monday. It is not even a week and the world got shocked when the rapper dropped a truth bombshell. Colson Baker is MGK’s real name and he recounts those horrific moments that made him feel like giving up on his life.
Kelly’s father died in July 2020 surprisingly it is the same day as the anniversary of MGK’s album, “Hotel Diablo”. That deeply affected him and left him broken. However, things worsened after one of his late father’s neighbors said a couple of things that he wasn’t ready to hear, and that triggered his condition more. It was like MGK failed to get closure and that kept bothering him.
He disclosed how the situation got off hand. “I wouldn’t leave my room and I started getting really, really, really dark,” “Megan went to Bulgaria to shoot a movie, I started getting this really wild paranoia like I kept getting paranoid that someone was gonna come and kill me.”
Kelly narrates the moment when he slept next to a shotgun in his bed. It was visible how disturbed Kelly felt even when explaining the incident. He recalls the moment when the star just snapped and then proceeded to call her now-fiancé, Meghan Fox. He told her about his feeling of being left alone at this crucial time and expected Meghan to be by his side.
Meghan was on the call when MGK tried to attempt suicide.
“I’m in my room and I’m like freaking out on here and… Dude, I put the shotgun in my mouth.”
Kelly explained how Meghan just remained “dead silent” while he had a shot in his mouth and when he tried to cock it, the “bullet got jammed”. That was one lucky escape if the bullet didn’t get jammed, MGK would have lost his life. It was such a horrific moment for Meghan Fox as well since she was out of town and had no control to stop the situation.
Machine Gun Kelly Had Quit Drugs After That
This was the moment when MGK realized the impact these drugs are having on him. He claimed this to be a wake-up call to “kick the drugs, for real this time”. The decision was solely for the rapper’s daughter, Casie Baker whom he had with ex Emma Cannon and of course, his fiancé Meghan Fox.
Tw// drugs, suicide
Finished the @machinegunkelly life in pink documentary and wow… I cried when he spoke about his dad how his paranoia got him after his dad died, thinking someone was gonna kill him. It got so bad he tried killing himself… I’m so glad he’s here.

While pointing it to his head, Kelly stated, “That was kind of where I started realizing like, something’s not right.”
Since then, Kelly has been open about his mental health. If you can recall the interview he had for Interview Magazine in 2020, he said to Dave Franco that he is getting help through therapy. In the interview, he mentioned, “Currently, my drug of choice is happiness and commitment to the art, rather than a commitment to a vice that I believed made the art.”
