James Cameron is the director of some of the most critically acclaimed films of all time, including Aliens and Terminator, among others. Avatar, the underwater adventure film from the 2000s, was also under his direction.
It was a movie that made a lot of money, but then everyone forgot about it for the next ten years. He is also responsible for that film. That is until James Cameron made the announcement that he would be creating four more Avatar movies.
James Cameron will return to direct the second installment of the science fiction film series titled Avatar, which is scheduled to hit theatres at the conclusion of the year 2022. However, the man behind the camera will be in charge of directing the next film Way of the Water as well as the third installment in the Avatar film franchise. However, he has hinted that he may not direct Avatar 4 or 5.

Cameron outlined the production plans for the conveyor belt of Avatar sequels in an interview with Empire Magazine. He also discussed the uncertainties around his personal position in the fourth and fifth installments of the series.
Cameron said that the Avatar films in and of themselves are “very much all-consuming.” “I’ve got some other things I’m creating as well, and they’re interesting,” he continued. “I’ve got some other things I’m developing as well.”
“I believe ultimately over time – I don’t know whether that’s after three or after four – I’ll want to transfer the torch to a director who I trust to take over,” the film director added. “This will provide me the opportunity to do some other projects that I’m also interested in.” “Or maybe not. I am unable to say.”
It wouldn’t be the first time that Cameron has passed the helm of a project that was so near and dear to his heart to someone else. Alita: Battle Angel was the product of lengthy and arduous labor on the part of the director, who finally handed over control of the project to Robert Rodriguez. The date of release for Avatar 2 has been confirmed for the 22nd of December in 2022.
