‘The Wilds’ Canceled By Amazon Prime Video After 2 Seasons

There will not be a season 3 of Prime Video’s The Wilds. Season 2 of the YA survival drama was released on May 6, and the cast and crew were recently informed of the decision, which comes nearly three months later.

For Prime Video and Amazon Studios, The Wilds was a significant series developed and produced by the late Jamie Tarses. Amazon Studios ordered it as one of the first YA pilots ordered after Jennifer Salke took over as showrunner and announced an expansion into that genre. For the first time, the second season of a YA series premiered on Prime Video, and it was the first to do so.

One of Prime Video’s most recent successes, The Summer I Turned Pretty, is based on bestselling novelist Harlan Coben’s Mickey Bolitar trilogy, which also includes The Boys Presents: Diabolical and Invincible. Prime Video’s upcoming series, Shelter, will be based on the first novel in that trilogy.

As soon as The Wilds premiered on December 11, 2020, it was compared to Showtime’s Yellowjackets, which led to a quick renewal. Since the show’s return in May, the public’s enthusiasm for it has waned.

In the second season of The Wilds, eight young girls find themselves stranded on an island in the middle of the ocean under unexplained circumstances. There is a fresh set of male survivors in the current season, who find themselves in a similar predicament. In the face of their harsh circumstances, both groups are compelled to overcome both emotional and physical hurdles.

Troy Winbush, Rachel Griffiths, Sophia Ali, Sarah Pidgeon, Jenna Clause, Erana James, Reign Edwards, and Shannon Berry make up the cast of the series. As the second batch of survivors, Zack Calderon, Aidan Laprete, Nicholas Coombe, Charles Alexander, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Reed Shannon, Tanner Ray Rook, and Alex Fitzalan was added to the cast in Season 2.

Sarah Streicher, Amy Harris, the late Tarses of Fanfare, and Dylan Clark for Dylan Clark Productions were all executive producers on The Wilds. Amazon Studios and ABC Signature, a division of Disney Television Studios, collaborated on the production of the show. Stay tuned with us only on Lee Daily
