As a young exorcist invited to Tokyo by the union, Benio is a prodigy. An oracle states that they, along with Rokuro, are the destined Twin Star Exorcists. In addition to being the mother and father of Abe no Seimei’s reincarnation, they are also tasked with eradicating all of the Kegare from the planet.

Rather than burden their unborn kid with the burden of eradicating the Kegare, the couple decides to do it themselves. Rokuro returns to exorcism after being spurred on by Benio’s determination to become stronger.

Tanaka’s novel Soseu no Onmyouji Tenen Jakko is the basis for the manga. Seigen and Yukari are the protagonists of the novel. Originally published in Japan in 2016, Tanaka followed up with a sequel, Sosei no Onmyoji Shiga Kenbyaku, which was released in 2017. Mayura and Shimon are the focus of the final segment.
