The 49ers have until the start of the preseason to deal with Jimmy Garoppolo, but the market appears to be heating up again. In an ideal world, the San Francisco 49ers would have dealt veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo months ago, securing a nice return package from one of the numerous quarterback-needy clubs that existed earlier this summer.
However, in light of Garoppolo enduring offseason shoulder surgery and the volatile nature of what turned out to be a chaotic quarterback carousel, Jimmy G remains on the Niners roster despite their emphatic announcement of second-year pro-Trey Lance being declared the starter from this point onward.
Of course, there’s been no shortage of Garoppolo trade talk all offseason. Potential suitors have come and gone, then have resurfaced again only to depart with training camp coming to a close and the 2022 preseason just around the corner.

But, with two weeks of camp showing some telling developments regarding many a team’s own quarterbacking issues, the prospect of Garoppolo finally being dealt after months of speculation and hearsay, possibly a deal finishes up happening uncomfortably soon.

And it was almost as though NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco was advertising this to potentially interested teams in light of Garoppolo throwing again:

That being said, it’s possible that San Francisco won’t get a top-tier NFL Draft pick in return for the quarterback’s $24.2 million base salary, and it’ll be difficult for the team to get rid of all of it.
But that shouldn’t stop the 49ers from desperately trying, and these three teams could potentially have interest now with the regular season just over a month away. Stay tuned with us only on Lee Daily
