Following a car accident, American actress Anne Heche, who portrayed twins Vicky Hudson and Marley Love in the serial opera Another World, is listed in “serious condition.” After the tragedy on August 5, her family informed CNN in a statement that she is still in a coma and “not expected to live.” The actress ran her car off the road, into a house, and set it on fire while driving in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The LAFD reported that after 59 firemen worked 65 minutes gaining access to and putting out the “stubborn flames,” the actress was transported to the closest hospital in a critical condition. It has always been Anne’s wish to donate her organs, thus she is currently being maintained on life support to see if any of her organs are “viable,” according to her family.
Many people are now reflecting on her life and career, particularly her scandalous romance with Ellen DeGeneres and her affection for Harrison Ford.
Harrison Ford is Called the “Hero” by Anne Heche
The actress encountered a challenging period in her career in the late 1990s because she had recently made her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres public. Her work opportunities drastically declined because same-sex partnerships were far less frequent at the time, particularly in the world of celebrities.

She was going to star alongside Harrison Ford in the film Six Days, Seven Nights, but Anne was certain she wouldn’t win the part due to her seclusion from the public. Harrison, though, made sure that didn’t occur. The actress acknowledged that he was the one who kept her in the movie in October 2020.
I wouldn’t have purchased that movie, she declared. Harrison Ford was a hero, and I took Ellen to the premiere, so he contacted me the day after they told me I wouldn’t get it. “He remarked, “Frankly, my dear, I couldn’t care less with whom you’re having relations. I’ll see you on the set and we’re going to make the best romantic comedy there is,” she added.
Truly, Harrison Ford is my hero. The fact that I owe him my public life means that I have honored him in some way. I owe him the chance to continue speaking at this level… More than any money I could have gained, the platform it offered me is worth many times more.
The Actress Was Paid Far Less
In a November 2021 interview with Jason Tartick on Trading Secrets, Anne disclosed that she earned virtually nothing in comparison to Harrison. “I believe I earned $125,000 for four months of filming Six Days, Seven Nights. And Harrison made $20 million, which I know because I used to make fun of him, she added. The Volcano star also disclosed that because she was dating the television personality, she lost a $10 million deal with a movie company and lost other jobs.
Inside Anne and Ellen’s Dating Status
Between 1997 and 2000, Anne and Ellen had an almost four-year relationship. In an interview with Oprah, Anne recalled how they first connected at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in 1997: “I saw Ellen across a crowded room, not knowing anything at all, except that I was captivated by her.”

When Ellen accepted the woman from Psycho’s cast as her date for the 1997 premiere of Volcano, the news was made. Despite being warned that doing so would result in the loss of her Fox contract, she chose to accept the TV host position. The celebrity, however, claimed that she was “ushered out by security before the movie had started” and that she was forbidden from attending the afterparty for fear of being photographed with a woman. It was incredible.
“Our time together was a lovely period in my life, one that I wear with honor. The 53-year-old added, “I was a part of a movement that brought about societal transformation, and I could not have done it without falling in love with her. Unfortunately, things weren’t to last and the couple’s relationship abruptly ended in 2000, making them one of the most prominent LGBTQ+ couples of the 1990s.
We deeply respect the 3 1/2 years we have spent together, and it is an amicable parting, they stated in a statement they released to announce the breakup. She walked out the door, and I haven’t spoken to her since; I don’t have the answers, Ellen told the Los Angeles Times a year later, claiming that the split was unexpected.
Ellen DeGeneres was spotted out in public for the first time since her ex-girlfriend Anne Heche crashed her car into a home in California. The former talk-show host dated Heche from 1997 to 2000. DeGeneres says they do not talk to each other anymore but wishes her well. pic.twitter.com/kXei3qVIK1

Anne said, “I dated Ellen DeGeneres for three and a half years, and the stigma associated with that relationship was so severe that I lost my multi-million dollar movie deal.” The actress continued by saying that the relationship caused her to “not work in a studio picture for 10 years” and that she was sacked from a “multi-million dollar picture agreement.”
