Eminem is the Rap God and Machine Gun Kelly is currently a prominent name in the industry. Both are great artists on their own terms and fans do love these two artists individually. But not everything is about merry-making as there are a lot of hurt feelings to heal and bruised egos to attend to. Now, feuds between artists are common. However, what if two of the most influential white rappers feud against each other? It creates mayhem!
Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly have been openly feuding with each other for a long time and the only thing that happened is that it got messy. The feud has gotten too far and also involves their family, their craft, and more. But what is the main reason that led to such a situation in the first place? Here is the brief of the entire Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem.
The Beginning of Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem
The competition between Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem extends beyond their musical career. It started a decade ago in 2012 when MGK took the first move and commented about Eminem’s daughter, Halie Mathers. So, MGK took to the internet and tweeted, “[O]k so I just saw a picture of Eminem’s daughter,” “and I have to say, she is hot as fuck, in the most respectful way possible cuz Em is king.”
Eminem adored his daughter but his relationship with her had a lot of layers. Even though Kelly intended to say it in a harmless way, it didn’t sit right with Eminem and that started the Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem feud.
Eminem didn’t say a word but the cold war of Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem began in a silent manner. The words were spread in the music industry and MGK himself claimed during a popular radio interview about how the critics didn’t want to collaborate or work with him due to the comment he made on Eminem’s daughter. The comment was considered to be “out of line”.
The Diss Tracks
Here came the series of diss tracks that put the Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem feud in the limelight. After the major fallout, MGK was then seen raping on Tech N9ne’s song, “No Reason” in 2018. So, the second verse totally went on shade Eminem with the lyrics:
“To remind y’all you just rap, you’re not Gods
And I don’t care who got bars”
It was just the reference to Eminem’s massive hit song, “Rap God” which was released. Returning to making back-to-back diss songs, Eminem released “Not Alike” which was highly anticipated by the fans.
Next came MGK’s response with his diss track “Rap Devil” which continued the Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem feud.
As the epic back and forth of the rap battle was continuing, Eminem explains why is he feuding with MGK in a 2018 Sway Calloway interview. He detailed that Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem is still continuing because he has his own reasons, “The reason I dissed him is actually a lot pettier than that,” “The reason that I dissed him is that he got on—first he said, ‘I’m the greatest rapper alive since my favorite rapper banned me from Shade 45’ or whatever he said, right? Like I’m trying to hinder his career. I don’t give a fuck about your career. Do you think I actually fucking think about you? Do you know how many fucking rappers are better than you? You’re not even in the fucking conversation.”
The Feud Still Continues
The diss tracks keep coming and the Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem continues. Eminem drops another diss named “Killshot” and the living legend even name drops MGK. Well, after that, MGK has not responded as of now and both the rappers are seemingly content in their own lives.
It has been a while since there have been any new updates in Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem. But if everything settles down, the fans really hope to see Eminem and MGK working together closing the Machine Gun Kelly vs Eminem for good and spreading happiness. Both the rappers are enjoying their beautiful life and MGK recently got engaged to the very beautiful Megan Fox whereas Eminem is busy with his family.
