Production Begins on ‘One Punch Man’ Season 3

As of right now, Saitama is returning to his duties. One Punch Man Season 3 has officially commenced production, with a teaser image from Chikashi Kubota, the character designer for the first two seasons of the anime series, posted more than three years after the end of its second season.

One Punch Man’s official website made the news, but beyond that, details are being kept under wraps for the time being. With nothing else to be gleaned from the new teaser image released accompanied the news, it features series protagonist Saitama and Garou, a prominent villain introduced in Season 2, standing side by side. The following is a quote from the announcement announcing Season 3’s production:

This time, we will start the production of the long-awaited sequel of the animation “One-Punch Man” 3rd season. At the same time, a new teaser visual drawn by Osamu Kubota, who was in charge of character design for the first and second seasons, has also been released. The latest information will be announced on the official TV anime website and official SNS as needed, so please wait for further details.

While Kubota will be back for season three, it is unclear who else will be involved or if the animation studio will move again like it did between seasons one and two. The number of episodes in the next third season has not been revealed yet, but if it follows the pattern of the two prior seasons, there will be 12 total. The official One Punch Man website will be the first place to find out any new information.
