When it comes to the Ocean series, fans have really enjoyed almost every single one and each of the movies had so much to offer, plot twists and curiosities. It’s always thrilling. Very recently, we have seen Ocean’s 8 and it is definitely worth every minute of it. Ocean’s 8 left the fans confused, primarily leaving them with an important question to answer, “How did Danny Ocean die?”
Although Ocean’s 8 is all about the girl gang doing wonders and doing all the heists, it opens with Debbi Ocean played by Sandra Bullock answering questions about his brother, Danny Ocean or George Clooney. Debbi said, “My Brother, may he rest in peace.” This was quite a blow for the fans of George Clooney and it seems like Danny Ocean is dead.
Are We Going To See Danny Ocean in Ocean’s 8?
How did Danny Ocean die? Well, that is a complicated question to answer.
The entire audience is left curious and wondering, how did Danny Ocean die? Most people are wondering about it and in reality, he is not dead at all. Debbie herself isn’t sure what is the fate of her brother’s life but by the end of the movie, chances are we will get to see Danny is still alive. The moment we saw Debbie saying “may he rest in peace”, it surprised the fans and made them wonder if Danny Ocean is really dead. We also see Danny visiting her brother’s grave as soon as she is out of prison, leaving the audience curious.
It was not his brother Danny Ocean but Reuben to meet Debbi out of prison. Fans expected to see Danny coming to take Debbi out of prison but his brother showing up was something none expected.
Reuben visits Debbie out of prison and the first thing he says is, “They thought I’d be the best one to talk to you.” When Debbie asked Reuben what He thought about the entire plan, Reuben responded, “He said it was brilliant. And you would probably end up in prison.”
Although, throughout the conversation, the identity of “He” is never revealed to any Ocean’s fan, it is almost clear that they are not talking about “Rusty” and it is most likely they are talking about “Danny” Although, in the scene of Debbie visiting Danny’s grave, it showed Danny Ocean died in 2018 when we looked at the appearance of Reuben and Debbie, it seems more likely that Danny Ocean faked his death in 2018.
The True Reason Behind Danny Ocean’s death
At the end of the film again, we see Debbie visiting Danny’s grave after they have done a successful heist. We see her pouring herself a martini and raising a toast to his apparently dead brother. She says “You would have loved it.” This, however, presents a concern, does Debbie actually think Danny is dead or is it just comfort or more of a way for her to connect to her brother when she doesn’t know where her brother is in reality? Ocean’s Eight very cleverly leaves these questions totally unanswered and Danny’s fate is up in the air.
So we understand Danny Ocean isn’t dead but news about him is unknown. That leaves us with a different question from “how did Danny Ocean die?” there is a new question, “will he come back to the Ocean’s franchise?”
When it comes to George Clooney himself, he didn’t reveal anything or has said much about Ocean’s 8 since it was released. Sandra Bullock, however has said that both of them spoke about making the movie. In one of the interviews with Extra, she exclaimed how they were joking about George Clooney making a return to the Ocean’s franchise.
The entire cast of Ocean’s Eleven has good things to share about the new film and looking at the success it got, there is a possibility that we are going to see more male cast in the upcoming sequels. As of now, we do not know much about the fate of George Clooney or a new Ocean’s film, if we are seeing Ocean’s 9, there is a chance we will see the return of Danny Ocean. How did Danny Ocean die will not be a question to answer any more!
