The Amazon Electronic Arts news is currently trending all over mainstream and digital media. So, what is the deal? It is heard that Amazon is currently on the way to acquiring Electronic Arts or you may have popularly known it as EA and this news is blowing up. The official confirmation is yet to come from both parties but apparently, the official confirmation will be rolling out today after the deal has been finalized. Esports content company named GLHF has revealed this news and the potential acquisition may get finalized soon enough.
Who Is Interested In The EA Acquisition Deal?
USA Today reports that Amazon will be putting in an official offer for proceeding to acquire the company. The news was first published in the month of May when EA was actively looking forward to having a sale or a merger. If reports are to be believed, big names like Apple, Comcast-NBCUniversal, Disney, and Amazon are highly interested to seal the deal. The Electronic Art SEO claimed in August that the company will be up for “acquisition” from August onwards. As per the valuations, Electronic Arts is standing at a huge value of $35 billion. Moreover, it has had an impact on the pre-trading market as well which had a huge spike of 15% before it went down to 6%.
Amazon’s Commitment To The Gaming Industry
When Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard happened, fans thought it to be one of the biggest deals that can happen in the gaming world this year. The company had spent $68.7 billion to buy Activision Blizzard. However, with Amazon’s interest in taking over EA, that notion is about to change. After Amazon entered the world of gaming in 2012, it eventually launched three game development studios as well as video projects. Some of them are highly popular and Amazon’s new CEO Andy Jassey also clearly mentioned his commitment to AGS (Amazon Gaming Studios) and aims to make the experience richer and better.

With the Covid lockdowns forcing everyone to stay indoors, the gaming industry expanded rapidly. By 2026, it is anticipated that the gaming economy will be at $321 billion. So, if Amazon successfully manages to take full control over EA, then it will land with one of the most popular gaming franchises. The top games under the EA banner are Need for Speed, SimCity, Mass Effect, Apex Legends, The Sims, Battlefield, and Medal of Honor.
Besides that, EA even acquired Codemasters last year which also let them have full access to the top racing game franchises like DIRT, GRID, Project CARS, and DiRT.
We do not think that EA and its shareholders will settle for anything less than some billions of dollars. Thus, if today, Amazon finalizes the deal with EA, then only approval from regulators will come it and the entire thing will be implemented after months.
Will Amazon Not Bid For EA?
CNBC reports claimed that new developments have arisen in the course of the acquisition process. It is said that Amazon is not going to bid any further for the EA acquisition. But the giant reporting platform is going to rely on the anchor of the CA to find out about the new reasonings and updates. The reporter claimed, “I have talked to some people who could actually know if there was something going on, and they say there’s nothing going on,” “These are people who would be involved.”

So, the news regarding this acquisition process is still in suspense.
William M. Hawkins who was an Apple employee was the main founder of Electronic Arts in 1982 in California. It eventually became a leading video games developer as well as a manufacturer over the period. This banner has developed top games like FIFA, Madden NFL, and more to win over the market. If Amazon finally gets the deal confirmed with EA, then a revolutionary change can be expected. However, you need to wait till the end of the day or a few more hours to get the final update. In case Amazon acquires EA, be ready to see a new, and updated gaming experience. Are you excited about this? We hope that whatever happens, there is a good reason for it!
