After a difficult first week on Love Island 2022, Liam Llewellyn was the first competitor to be eliminated. The 22-year-old Welsh students from Stockport left the villa on Friday night’s program, after gathering his fellow competitors around the fire to say goodbye.
Liam used to be with Gemma Owen, but then she got back with Davide Sanclimenti, leaving Liam single.
Liam Llewellyn Left Love Island, But Why?
According to the MailOnline, Liam complained to ITV producers that he was bored in the villa and that they should give his spot to someone else. On Friday night’s episode, Liam gathered the other competitors and said, “I think we need to have a chat, we need to get everyone by the firepit.”
He continued, “I don’t really think I’ve been giving 100 percent Liam; I’m miles off that.” “Trying to find someone you leave the villa with that you care about – obviously that’s the goal, isn’t it? But when you’re not feeling that, it makes it a hard sort of time to find that.”
Adding, “This isn’t a spur-of-the-moment type of thing, so yeah, I’ve made the decision that I am going to leave the villa. It’s been a breeze – it’s been an absolute ball. You’re all unreal.” Liam’s resignation was “unexpected,” a source informed MailOnline.
Who Else Has Quit Love Island Early?
Liam is hardly the first participant to leave the villa on their own accord. Despite just being on the show for nine days, Sherif Lanre was removed in 2019. Executive producers at the time claimed, “After breaking the villa rules, Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would depart the Love Island villa.”
It turned out that while playing rough, he had accidentally kicked Molly-Mae Hague in the groin. Sherif later explained, “In a case of poor judgment, I broke the villa rules and, as a result, agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.” I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and as a 20-year-old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.”
Niall Aslam quit the show in 2018 after only seven days, citing “personal reasons” for his departure. Years later, in an Instagram video, Niall explained why he left Love Island: “I came out and talked about my Asperger’s and I was diagnosed at 10 years old.
“But what actually happened to me, I ended up watching Love Island in a psychiatric hospital in London – the Nightingale Hospital in London to be exact.”
“What I later found out is that I had something called stress-induced psychosis… I did not know what that was. Essentially what it is, you get so overwhelmed that you lose touch with reality.”
