The Harry Potter series has turned on a portkey and is getting ready to stop using one of its current streaming platforms. The eight movies are now available for streaming on HBO Max, but due to an earlier licence arrangement established before Warner Bros started its streaming service, that is about to change.
The Harry Potter film series has previously abandoned streaming services. In reality, since HBO Max’s debut in 2020, they have relocated every few months. The so-called “Wizarding World” franchise’s other movies, on the other hand, tend to move around while remaining stationary.
The eight Harry Potter films will no longer be available on HBO Max as of August 31. The good news is that the movies are available on a different reputable streaming service. No one was surprised when Peacock added all of the Harry Potter movies to its collection on July 1.
Where Can I Watch Harry Potter Films?
At the end of August, HBO Max will stop carrying all eight Harry Potter films (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, and Parts 1 and 2 of Deathly Hallows).
The movies are currently available for streaming on Peacock and HBO Max. When they go from the first, they will continue on the second, albeit that too will probably change over the coming several months.

Why Do the Harry Potter Movies Continue to Move?
Deals struck before either HBO Max or Universal had streaming services appear to be the primary factor. The TV rights for the movies were about to expire in 2016 after being owned by ABC for a long time. NBCUniversal received cable rights to air the movies on SyFy and USA at the time, while HBO purchased the streaming rights to air the movies on its HBO Go and HBO Now platforms.
The NBC arrangement, though, was crucial since it permitted the movies to air on the SyFy and USA digital platforms. In essence, this indicates that each provider has a claim to the films’ digital rights, which explains why they constantly changing services.
It appears likely that this will continue. Since the NBC contract won’t expire until 2025, little is likely to change until then.
