Actor Brec Bassinger, who plays Stargirl, discusses the forthcoming ninth and final season of The Flash on The CW and the impending end of the Arrowverse in the year 2023. The actor who plays the title character on the Arrowverse spinoff series discussed the imminent end of the DC shared universe with Decider ahead of the ninth season of The Flash. Bassinger admitted, “Of course, I’m sorry and emotional for them because I know individuals on these shows.”
“I appreciate what we get to do so much more now that I have witnessed how much work goes into making these programs. It’s an honor to be a part of this, this Arrow-verse, and I hope my program gets to continue airing for as long as possible.” Stargirl, which airs on The CW, is presently in its third season, and it stars Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl. Stargirl was established as residing on Earth-2 of the revitalized multiverse during the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event, after which the DC superhero series was included in the Arrowverse.
Since the “Infinite Earths” crossover, the title character played by Bassinger hasn’t teamed up with any of the other Arrowverse heroes, but he’s game if the producers ask him nicely. She went on to say that she wished the Stargirl, Superman, and Lois casts could all get together. She even went so far as to say that she could imagine scenes from both series being intercut. “Superman is arguably the most well-known superhero of all time. Collaborating between Stargirl and Superman would be awesome.”
The Main Arrowverse Will End In 2023
After the cancellations of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman in April 2022, The Flash was the only remaining superhero series on The CW that was still situated on the Earth-Primary location of the Arrowverse. It was initially believed that Superman and Lois also took place on Earth-Prime; however, the conclusion of the second season of the series established that the Man of Steel took place in its world.

This was reportedly done to give the creative team the opportunity to put their “own stamp on the Superman property.” A long-running and well-known shared universe will come to an end in 2023 when the ninth and final season of The Flash premieres. This shared world was formed in 2012 when the first season of Arrow began airing on television.
In addition to Bassinger, the cast of Stargirl Season 3, also known as Frenemies, includes Yvette Monreal as Yolanda Montez/Wildcat, Anjelika Washington as Beth Chapel/Dr. Mid-Nite, Cameron Gellman as Rick Tyler/Hourman, Trae Romano as Mike Dugan, Hunter Sansone as Cameron Mahkent, Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman/Shiv, Akoya Brunson as Jakeem Williams.
