Rosie O’Donnell Explains Why She And Ellen DeGeneres Don’t Have Relationship

Rosie O’Donnell described a conversation that Ellen DeGeneres had with Larry King that was detrimental to their relationship.

The insensitive remark that Ellen DeGeneres made about Rosie O’Donnell continues to harm her feelings. During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the actress discussed why she had no desire to maintain a friendship with the person who once hosted the show.

A curious viewer wanted to know why O’Donnell had never appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in its 20 years. O’Donnell disclosed that she was never questioned about it and offered an explanation, saying, “We had a little bit of a bizarre incident.” Rosie O’Donnell is providing some new information regarding why she and Ellen DeGeneres are not very close and why she has never been a guest on her talk show.

During an interview with Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Life,” Rosie O’Donnell, age 60, stated that a chat Ellen DeGeneres, age 64, had in the past with Larry King “actually wounded her feelings.” O’Donnell’s admission came up as a result of an exchange between the two. During her visit to Cohen’s show, O’Donnell was accompanied by Brian Baumgartner, who is most known for his role in “The Office.”

O’Donnell revealed to the host of Bravo that she had extended an invitation to DeGeneres to appear on her talk program. On the other hand, the former co-host of “The View” revealed that she did not appear on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” until the final episode of the nineteenth season.

“Had they not previously requested [for you to appear]?” Cohen stated so, thereby beginning the conversation.

“No,” O’Donnell answered. We experienced something a little strange, and after my show was off the air and hers was starting, Larry King was on with Ellen, and he asked, “What ever happened to Rosie O’Donnell?” Her show went straight to hell in the can! She revealed herself to be a lesbian and then vanished!

The response that DeGeneres gave O’Donnell blew her mind. And Ellen said, and I’m quoting her here: “I don’t know Rosie. We’re not pals,” O’Donnell stated. She had a clear and distinct memory of watching that conversation unfold on the television screen in her home.

“I was lying in bed with my ex-wife Kelli Carpenter when I questioned whether or not I had just overheard something. Or did I have a hallucination about that..” O’Donnell said. And that is precisely what transpired. And that shattered my fragile ego like a broken toy — I quote her. “And to this day, I’m not truly over it.”

Cohen stated that O’Donnell was never invited as a guest on DeGeneres’s show, although O’Donnell noted that she was asked before the show went off the air. Cohen mentioned that O’Donnell was never invited.

She explained, “I was going to go on for ‘SMILF,’ but I wanted to bring someone else with me, so it was a bit less weird.” “That was something that they did not want to do,” O’Donnell stated that she does not harbour any ill will toward DeGeneres and hopes for the best for her.

O’Donnell continued, “I hope everything goes well for her and that she enjoys the success that comes her way.”

From 1996 to 2002, Rosie O’Donnell hosted her talk show, “The Rosie O’Donnell Show.” During her time on the show, Ellen DeGeneres explored the motivations for her decision to reveal that she is a lesbian. After 19 years on the air, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was cancelled in May this year.

O’Donnell and DeGeneres made public announcements on their respective talk show that they are members of the LGBTQ+ community. DeGeneres has admitted that she once believed that coming out as a lesbian would end her professional life.

“When I came out, people warned me that it was going to ruin my career, and they were right for a while,” she said in April during an appearance on her show, 25 years after the “coming out” episode. “When I came out, people warned me that it would ruin my career, and they were right for a while.”

“I was unemployed for a period of precisely three years. However, take a look at me now.”
