The alleged shooting occurred in Chicago, although Lanez is currently free on bail and waiting to stand trial in Los Angeles for allegedly shooting at Megan Thee Stallion two years earlier, hurting both her feet.
AS Tory Lanez is currently awaiting trial on felony charges, he is accused of shooting at Megan Thee Stallion and wounding her in her feet during an attack in Los Angeles two years ago. Meanwhile, the rapper is now facing accusations that he assaulted singer August Alsina in Chicago over the weekend. Megan Thee Stallion was shot in her feet during the attack.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which is prosecuting the firearm assault on Megan, is now looking into Alsina’s allegations, which were shared online along with multiple photos showing the Louisiana crooner’s bloody lip and other wounds. Alsina’s allegations are the subject of an out-of-state investigation by the office.

We are investigating the charges that the defendant assaulted the artist August Alsina, and we are aware of the allegations. According to a statement given to Rolling Stone by the District Attorney’s Office, “the claims are serious and will be thoroughly examined.”
Alsina posted a series of gruesome images to Instagram on Sunday, claiming that Lanez, whose actual name is Daystar Peterson, assaulted him during the “Fall Back In Love Comedy & Music Jam” show hosted at the Arie Crown Theatre in Chicago on Saturday night. The show was held on Saturday.
Alsina, who is 30 years old, referred to Peterson as a hyperactive “leprechaun” who approached him with eight “oversized” bodyguards and asked why the singer didn’t “dap him up,” which is another way of saying shake his hand. Alsina described Peterson as having a “leprechaun” personality. Alsina claims that he responded that he didn’t think the two were friends and that his doctor urged him to avoid shaking hands in light of the ongoing issues with monkeypox and covid. (A clip showing Alsina abandoning Peterson and being rude to him circulated widely on social media.)
The musician published further photographs that revealed pink, fleshy sores on the inside of his lip, near one of his elbows, and on one of his knees. He claimed that Peterson sneaked up on him and attacked him and that Peterson then “ran back off into the building” once the attack was over. At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Chicago Police confirmed to Rolling Stone that a man in his 30s was allegedly “punched in the face” by another man in his 30s. They listed a location that matched the theatre as the place where the incident took place.
The police department will only say that “detectives are investigating” and won’t reveal the victim’s identity. According to the department, criminals are only disclosed by name after formal charges have been filed against them or after an arrest warrant has been obtained. Rolling Stone’s request for comment from Peterson’s criminal attorney in Los Angeles was not immediately met with a response. Meanwhile, prosecutors working on Megan’s case had no trouble inserting themselves into the action. They had requested that the judge presiding over her felony assault case either cancel or increase the rapper’s bail in light of the claims that he breached protective orders.
Peterson, 30, had his bail hiked to $250,000 in September 2021 after a judge found he violated the stay-away order prohibiting him from coming within 100 yards of Megan or harassing her in any way. Prosecutors said he attended the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami in July 2021 and “attempted to rush the stage” while Megan was performing. Disguised in a costume, he also hopped onstage with DaBaby while Megan was still in the venue and her song “Cry Baby” was playing, prosecutors said in their bail motion obtained by Rolling Stone.
Peterson’s bond was upped once more in April, this time to a total of $350,000 when a judge determined that the “SKAT” rapper had violated protective orders that forbade him to harass Megan or discuss discovery in the case with any third parties. Megan was the subject of the charges. A judge in Los Angeles postponed the beginning of the criminal trial against Peterson last week, setting a new return date of November 28 for the case. According to the prosecutors, they anticipate that the jury selection process will begin on December 5.
