Hip Hop Awards 2022: Joey Bada$$ took the stage at the 2022 Hip Hop Awards to address the hip-hop scene with a powerful statement. After paying a moving tribute to the late Young Dolph, Joey sang his song “Head High” in honor of all those lost in hip-hop.
He was accompanied by ten men wearing hoodies bearing the names of deceased rappers, who were dressed in white jackets to match their chains.
Scott La Rock, Big L, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, XXXTENTACION, Nipsey Hussle, King Von, Pop Smoke, Young Dolph, and PnB Rock are just a few of the names on the hoodies of those who have passed away that date as recent as two weeks ago.

The 27-year-old emcee concluded his set by stating that “rappers must quit supporting our own extermination.” There is an internal conflict going on, and no guy is protected from it outside.
Turn around and instruct these kids to kill one another, you true rappers you are. You see, we have our biggest opportunities. I’m done blaming the judges and the police. It’s time to accept responsibility.
