The Great British Bake Off
The Great British Bake Off, in which amateur bakers compete to be named the UK’s Best Amateur Baker, is the ultimate baking competition. Over the course of 10 hour-long episodes, the series chronicles the challenges of the participants, both young and elderly, from every background and location in Britain as they attempt to demonstrate their baking prowess.
The bakers take on a different baking talent each week, which gets harder as the competition goes on. Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith were selected by the development team to serve as judges. The Great British Bake Off 2022 hosts was then approached to be Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas.
What Happened To Rebs And Abdul In Bake Off?
Abdul Sharif and Rebs Lightbody won’t be on GBBO Bread Week this year. The two bakers are “a little under the weather this week,” host Matt Lucas says to the remaining competitors in the episode.
But with your consent, we thought we’d send them both directly to the final, he adds in jest. “Only kidding, they’re they’re going to miss a week, and hopefully, they’ll be back next week,” co-host Noel Fielding continues.
While Rebs, a 23-year-old master’s student from County Antrim, grew up assisting her mother in the kitchen, Abdul, a 29-year-old electronics engineer who lives in London, was born in Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents.
Where Are Rebs And Abdul Bake Off?
Due to illness, Rebs and Abdul were unable to take part in the Episode 3 filming. They haven’t publicly announced their absence online, leaving it up to the hosts to provide an explanation.
On her Instagram page, Baker Rebs have continued to spread the word about bread week, but recently some of her followers complained that she was soliciting too much support for biscuit week. Co-star Janusz added that he offered help, but it was not aired.
Contestants Will and Maisam have already left the show in episodes 1 and 2 after being eliminated. For the fourth episode, Rebs and Abdul, the two remaining bakers, are permitted to return.
Why Are Rebs And Abdul Not On Bake Off?
As two of the nine surviving Bake Off participants, Rebs and Abdul are anticipated to appear in episode 4 of the series. No known instances of temporary absence from the prior GBBO series have occurred, despite the fact that hosts have previously fallen unwell.
Both Rebs and Abdul were a bit under the weather during Bread Week – but hopefully they’ll be back in the Bake Off Tent next week. #GBBO

Matt Lucas was left to host an episode by himself after Noel Fielding became ill during the 2021 season. In October of last year, Matt announced the illness of his co-hosts using the phrase “feeling under the weather.”
Diana Beard withdrew from the competition in 2014 and permanently exited the program due to sickness. However, the former competitor admitted that she still goes to reunions with her castmates in a 2017 interview with the Shropshire Star.
