Even though it seems like a lot of bands break up when one of the members goes solo, it doesn’t seem likely that Mumford and Sons will, since Marcus said his solo debut would be in 2020.
Marcus told Rolling Stone in an interview that the other band members had given him permission to try new things. In fact, each member of the band was happy with the career choices of the others.
Marcus said in the interview: “We’ve definitely giving each other the blessing to do whatever feels right creatively. The idea of co-writes doesn’t scare me at all. It’s quite exciting. It feels like I have a lot of business to do with my instruments and my gear, so I’m excited to lean into that in the next year.”
At the same time, Marcus said that he enjoyed working with the band and was looking forward to making more music.
How Does He Feel About the Other Members of His Band?
In the same interview, Marcus called his relationship with the rest of the band members a “marriage.” The lead singer said that it took a lot of talking and letting each other know how they felt for a relationship to last for more than a decade.
At the same time, the fact that they worked and had fun together helped them stay friends over the years.
