Ernest Anthony Puente Jr. aka Tito Puente was the son of Puerto Rican immigrants, Ernest Puente and Ercilla Puente. The musician was born on 20th April 1923 at the Harlem Hospital Center. Besides, he had two siblings, Anna Puente and Alberto Puente. He was raised in the popular New York City’s Spanish Harlem where his training to be a professional musician began.
