This weekend, Mississippi State will travel to Tuscaloosa to play the University of Alabama. John Cohen, the director of athletics at MSU stated: “We are devastated by Sam Westmoreland’s unexpected passing.
Mississippi State is a family and at this difficult time, we are all grieving together. We send our condolences to Sam’s friends and family as well as the Westmoreland family. The statement claimed that Westmoreland was originally from Tupelo, Mississippi.
After a stellar high school career, he majored in industrial technology and joined the football team as a walk-on. This Saturday’s game between Mississippi State and the University of Alabama will take place in Tuscaloosa.
